need to choose a b-pipe
need to choose a b-pipe
well the bpipe(from cat to muffler) on my 2.3 CL has a hole that keeps getting bigger and louder. I've pretty much ruled out a new oem pipe because of the $200+ price tag. So my options look like an aftermarket b-pipe made by bosal or walker. Or a used oem part(which is hard to find!). Ive heard some bad things about the aftermarket parts ie: vibrations and noise change. I dont want any kind of performace exhaust so that's ruled out. Just want to get a feel for peoples opinions or if anyone has been in a similar situation what did you do?
i had a similar situation. my "b" pipe (most frequently called center section i think) had a messed up resonator which would rattle at around 1700-1900 RPM which happens to be parking lot speed in first gear (super annoying) the inside was loose and buzzing up against the outside part. i looked at aftermarket OEM replacements aswell however just decided to get a 2.25" SS catback. i love it. if i were to go the OEM route tho id choose either one of those brands mentioned above they r pretty much the same thing from what ive read, enless one brand uses a thicker gauge pipe than the other. you could always take it to a local shop and get a new pipe put in, they would prob warranty the work aswell if you had any problems, id start there.
nice. i didn't even think of going the custom route. i'll have to look into how much it'll cost for a shop to bend the pipe and do the install. i would just go with a full catback like you said but i just bought a new muffler less than 3 months ago
