Need advice on alarm problem please...
Hey all,
This is sort of wierd, but anyways I always lock my door when I park the 97 acura cl, so last night I went out at around 8:30 pm, parked the car and like 10 min later the factory car alarm went off for no reason. So I used the remote and unlocked it and then locked it, 5 min later it goes off again.
So I go outside, make sure all the doors, and trunk are closed properly, I lock the doors again and wait about 5 min, nothing happens...so all is good and I'm thinking that maybe one of the doors or trunk wasn't closed properly, but then at 8 am the damn alarm went off again!! Somethings tripping the alarm to go off and i have no idea what it could be, I was hoping i could get some feedback on what the problem might be, thanks in advance for any help.

Hmmm, this sounds extremely suspicious. I would secretly observe the vehicle from some where that you cannot be seen. I highly doubt its someone attempting to jack it, or maybe just annoy you so that you dont pay attention to the alarm anymore, then proceed to jack it.
Other than that it may be an electrical problem. Im not sure if your vehicle has an immobilizer, since its a 97 but FWIW i would observe the vehicle to see whats going on.
BTW when you say factory car alarm, are you referring to the factory installed remote keyless entry system? That's not an alarm, it is what it is, so unless you have a real alarm installed with Motion, vibration, glass breakage, or other misc sensors, it would mean to me that the factory system has some type of electrical problem. Perhaps someone attempting to re-transmit your transmitters code back to the alarm by using a code-grabber and failing in there attempts.
IMHO it could be none of the above, im just speculating. Most likely its an electrical problem.

The door lock actuators can trigger the alarm if the actuator itself is glitching due to water intrusion and /or corrosion. if the lock actuator is glitching.... the latch will move and the alarm will sound simulating a "slim jim" method to trigger the alarm...
