My melted taillight (anyone have an extra?)
One of my friends told me that I had a taillight out, but my car wasn't telling me that I had one out, so when I opened the trunk to look, I found out that the light had busted loose from the socket and whenever you hit the brakes the light bulb would come on and melt the plastic, so now the bulb holder won't lock into place.
I have to get a whole new taillight housing now. I dont' need the electrical or any of the little parts, just the basic plastic housing.
We tried a wrecking yard type place, but they never have new enough cars.
Anyone have an extra? It's the drivers' side light.
Thanks.

Try using some epoxy or something first save the money until it's really necessary.
But if you do need one, check out www.car-part.com it's a directory of junk yards and most are willing to ship to you. Decent prices too. Well, alot cheaper than new ones.
Peace

Try talking to the dealership, because I don't think that is supposed to happen. You ought to tell them that that is a safety issue and they may just help you out.
Good luck.
Good luck.
