My alarm dosent work. please help.
I think the horn for my alarm is busted because when I press the panic button the lights just flash but no noise. Does any one know where the horn for the alarm is located? has this happened to anyone before?
thanks

Could it be in silent mode? Thats when the starter is disabled but the alarm doesnt sound off. Once, my alarm worked perfectly but the lights wouldnt flash. I found out the alarm blew its fuse.
Did your alarm come with a instructional booklet? Check if it has a troubleshooting section. If all else fails I would call the people that installed the alarm and get some more info. ...... maybe your horn is just broken.

if you are talking about the factory alarm i dont think there is a silent mode. The horn for the alarm is located in the driver side fenderwell (right in front of the tire) on the 97s. I dont know what year you have but i dont think they changed the location.

sorry for not being specific enough. Its the factory alarm that does not work. Im thinking the horn might be bad because it does not chirp (did the lock and trunk thing) and the panic button just makes the lights flash. 1StGenCL thanks for the info mine is a 97 2.2. do i have to take the bumper out to reach the horn? or is it reachable from the engine bay?

I had this happen to me once and when I brought it to the dealer to have it fixed, they told me all I had to do was press the trunk and the lock buttons on the remote simultaneously and voila the chirp will return. The alarm worked all along, just became demagnetized somehow. Hope this is what you're referring to. Good luck.

Sorry i didnt see your question sooner nandowong, you can reach the alarm horn by removing the wheel and the wheel well lining but it is a pain to reach the horn. If i were you i would remove the bumper but thats just me. Oh im pretty sure that there is no way to silence the alarm noise (the trunk and lock button does work for the lock/unlock chirp but i think thats it) Mike but i could be wrong. I'll have to try tomorrow

Boston Mike my car wont chirp either and I have tried the trunk and lock button deal, but it does not work because the siren seems to be broken.
I went on Acuraautomotiveparts.net and found out that there are to sirens # 18 and 17 in the pic
1StGenCL do you know if both are for the alarm because it seems weird that both of those are not working. Im leaning towards a bad wire in the control unit or maybe a fuse? what do you think?

i just went outside and popped my hood and set the alarm off. I dont see the siren mounted on the firewall and the alarm doesnt seem to come from that area but it def. comes from the fender well (my ears are still ringing
) I couldnt get the chirp with lock and unlock while the hood is open but with it closed it def. seems to come from the fender as well. It could very well come from both sirens but it really seems like it only comes from the drivers side fender. Wish i could help more, if there is anything else i can do let me know Good luck

I just had the same problem with my alarm. The lights would flash but no noise. I checked my fuse box under my hood and there it was one of them was popped. So check out all your fuses with the tester and see if one is popped. Hope this helps..
