my 2.3 automatic stalled.
Hi, i have the 99 2.3, and and about 83K miles. One day, my car sounded a bit deeper than usual, so i gave it gas in my driveway, and about the 4th time giving it gas, up to like 4k rpms, the rpms drop normally but all the way down and stalled. started it back up, fine, went driving, and everything seems normal. and back in my garage, i gave it gas again, up to 4k rms, and a couple times doing that, it stalled again. i havent had the engine recall done, no tuneup yet, nearly a full tank of gas. car seems to run fine and never had a problem before. the guy at autozone doesnt think that its a bad sparkplug, he says either the fuel pump is low, or it needs that ignition recall. is there a way for me to find out what the problem is instead of doing a trial and error, and i do intend to the ignition recall soon. just never had any problems. And for a second note, what exactly does the ignition recal replace, how does it affect the the car if i dont get it done? Thanks. BTW, there is 2 different codes in the analysis that refers to the o2 sensors, which has been there since last year(catalytic converter) i think the codes were 36 and 37. Thanks

revving my engine before never made it stalled, and now it does. i wont know if its going to stall during driving. i want to diagnose the problem before i actually do anything to it, just to know. i plan on getting a tuneup, ignition recall, timing belt. i just want to know where the stalling is coming from before i do those maintenences. so i know when it happens again.

with the ignition recall, do they issue new keys, or do you use the old one? o lost my main key so im using the second one, just wondering if they would give me new keys or not, without charge.

It's hard to get them to give you anything "without charge" you will at least have to pay to get the keys programmed, but chances are they won't just give you free keys either.
