sup guys,

i got a buddy with a 2x CL and he's lookin into swappin in the J32 6speed into his car.

he's fine with everything so far but the only thing that got him thinking was the mounts. he knows that he has to use the v6 mounts and subframe but his question is:

- do the v6 mounts bolt up to the 4cyl mount locations?
&
- does he use the 4cyl mount locations or does he have to switch the mount locations?

let me know if you guys have any input on this situation & i know my friend should be posting this but he's..let just say "computer challenged"

j32 in a 2x chassis? That's def gonna have mounting problems

Cocoa had to have custom mounts for his block

 

I'd help out a bit, but I don't know what the engine bay of the 2.x CL's look like. You'd probably would have to find out the hard way.

I did the swap into a 3.0CL which was still hard enough. I had to change the mount location for the rear, make a side one for the tranny, kept the passenger side one in it's stock location, and the front was moved a couple inches one way, only to move it back the other way a couple inches. Went through 6 custom mounts doing this swap. Trial and error...

As for doing it into the 2.X, no one is going to have any answers. You'll be the guinea pig.
