Man Down!!
Well more like car down.
quick story, car over heated, because of header core tube, caused head gasket to burn, which put radiator fluid in cylinders...now car broke....
i am taking the head off, having it machined and putting new gasket. going to be some work, so any so-cal people want to come over and work on an engine with me.
also anyone know of machine shops that can do this. plus has anyone done this before. also I read something a while back about putting a different head on top of the f23...anyone know anything about this.
well wish me luck, hybridnrg's car is down............

damn, that sucks. Hope it goes well in replacing it. if you look on Honda Tech theres writeups on putting an h22/h23 head on an f23 block, maybe you'd wanna go that route since you need a new head anyway.

Dude, sorry about your car man. I know a few places that work with head/block/tranny, basically anything but they're in the OC area.
One of them is Inline4 Performance, specialized in Honda 4 bangers, like the name implies. Their website is www.inlinefour.com give them a call.
Another place is Corner3Garage, specialized in Honda, Toyota and Nissan. Website is www.corner3garage.com
Good luck man.

hmm...209K miles? in that case since the motor is apart anyway, why not have it reconditioned and do the head swap? or an h22 swap?

ive always thought that finding an ecu for the h22 head swap would be too much trouble so id either just get your head machined or just h22 swap that bitch.

yeah those are 94-97 accord fogs. it wasnt that hard. just took off the bumper, and installed it from behind. just had to wire everything up and run the wires though the firewall. even has the switch to fit in that empty spot next to your clock.

this is what happened to the cl i bought, i headgasket blew once, acura changed it and then it blew again, be very careful with who u have machine it, also be aware that in rare cases your block may warp too, and for added security i strongly suggest u go out to your local autoparts store and pick up a can of copper headgasket spray and spray the new headgasket before putting it in.. oh btw i have a spare h22 head for dirt cheap, pm me...LOL
