You COULD do it yourself, but first off you'll need a spring compressor from some auto parts store that rents them. Plus a couple bolts on the back will almost surely freeze, so you'll need to torch those out. I would recommend taking it to a shop somewhere and have them do it. I am gonna take mine to a shop that quoted about $65 an hour for work, and they said it would take about 2 hours (i'm getting rims, brakes, struts and springs all in one pop in about a month). So it shouldn't be too expensive for an install. As far as springs, if it isn't made by Comptech, Neuspeed, Eibach, or some other MAJOR brand, leave them alone. You will regret it if you buy cheep springs!

P.S. Do a search. LOADS of info on this on the boards!

H&R uses eibach springs. and yes neuspeed's two set of springs are equivilant to the eibach line, though i hear that eibach has much better handling characteristics than the rest.

H&R produces their own springs. Both H&R and Eibach are both large suppliers/producers of springs sourced out to other companies in addition to themselves. I'm not sure who currently produces springs for Neuspeed, but in the 90's, they used H&R.

That's not right. H&R makes springs for Neuspeed.

they haven't for a few years. I think they split up before the new century. I don't think it was a full collaboration either. I think H&R just outsourced some stuff to eibach.

OFF-TOPIC:

I watched a rerun of the WRC @ Germany several nights ago.

It was cool too see all of the "Eibach" banners around the various stages of the Rally.

I was told that Tein coilovers are good as well, you may want to look into those. I was curious what other board members thought about the tein coilovers. You can get them for about $870.00
