Cocoa have stated that he have run his 3.0 with out the bottle agaist some member on here with h22 and held them, could be a worn motor. i would believe a well condition h22 CL would take the 3.0 due to a lighter motor and a 5speed. it would be a wopping and a half tho. my friend 03 prelude bearly pull out on me cuz he's able to shift to 2nd way before i can...but once up to speed i dont see him pulling out any farther at all.

That H22 ebay head is located where I live, which is kindof strange. It seems like a good deal, but I think this mod would be a huge headache (no pun intended).

remember if you get a p72 get eather an obd1 (recomended) or obd2a, obd2b wont work./ different pinout and it has an immobilizer..
dual runner, single runner
no difference when you hook them up.
The IAB selenoid that opens the secondary runner can be bypassed by connecting the vacuum post strait to the runner instead of on the selenoid. P13 without mods will open the secondary runner just fine.

i just dont know what the fuck im gonna tell my dad when my car is gone for so long. i have a feeling i would get fucked over by a shop, just like what is happening to Cocoa. and plus i dont know what im gonna do if i have to bring it to a shop far away, like somewhere in NYC or something. the money isnt the hard part, the time and getting my father off my back is.

For the headache i say do the h22
Wont be a lot cheaper for just the head
im sure you can get the h22 for $1000 and install it with my mechnic for $500-$600. Wire harness $100 and ECU $200.

Ill be coming to pick up the seal as soon as i get the car running. Most likely this weekend or early next week. I have to wait for the replacement parts from the warehouse.

Do you H22 swaps run P28 ecu's or what do you use?

What's the difference between dual and single runner control?
Do you work with that chipped p28 through Uberdata or Crome, or would that be unnecessary unless you are going forced induction?

The H22 intake manifold comes with 2 runners. Main one in front and secondary in the back. It is opened by the IAB selenoid which is activated by vacuum. The IAB is designed to open the secondary runner in higher RPM. Its a simple valve which opens when the ECU sends the signal. It allowed more air to run thru the manifold.

What I did was, I removed the selenoid and connected the vacuum line strait to the port which opens the butterfly on the runner. In other words I dont need the secondary runner control (even though I have it) to open the secondary runner.
The H22 carries the IAB but the K20 has a slighly different mechanism.

If you have the resources and knowledge im willing to help you over the net. If you are taking it somewhere they better have done it before or you will suffer like I did when I first had it done. I was one of the few who first had the H22 in their Cl. My mechanic who did my first engine fucked up a lot more things then he fixed.

Yes i got a turbo kit for the F22... Looking into the H22 swap with boost. I got money and i am great with cars. I know i can do the swap and the few friends that kno what they are doing might help. (maybe for some beer/pizza) I want to i was reading up on it and it doesnt seem bad as far as mounting it in and what not. The only thing is is that i hear a H22 with boost isnt the best. And i think i heard the a 96-??? has the open deck??? which is better for boost. Correct me if im wrong.. (could really use the new motor seen as i got cough214Kcough on my F22...) still no oil leaks or burning of oil!!!

h22 and boost dont get along very well because of its high compression (10:0:1 & 10:6:1). You need to fully gut it in order to achieve desired expectation. Bore, sleeve, head work and turbo will run you more then 10k

You can boost a high compression motor. Take a GSR motor.. Its 11.5:1 you can safely run 6 psi on that stock. I dont get why the H22 is any different. If anything i could see 8 psi on stock internals w/o problems. But ive heard of the boost problems with that motor. What type of probs are they talking about you know?

The GSR has been on 6 psi for 3 months now going strong. No issues to deal with. How would the H22 head on the F22 block with rebuilt internals handle boost do you think? I would really love DOHC!

Oh yea i was through all that. Seems like some work but then again not really. You think that would handle boost better than a H22
