Yea, when I first got the car, I was happy it was a japanese luxury car, they are my favorite, but I wasn't thrilled with the body style or anything, but I like it more and more everyday

Nice. Quick question, how much is it really going to cost to put a turbo in? And, it seems more cost effective to just get an h22, the horsepower is comparable to that of a turbo'ed f22b1

Besides you can't really say 11 psi or whatever psi is shit unless you know what kind of turbo setup people are running. Even yet, peoples setup's vary and you can't say a certain ammount of psi equals a certain ammount of horsepower and use that as a general rule of thumb.
11 psi on a certain turbo is not necessarily the same as 11 psi on another, yet more efficient turbo. Or how a car is tuned. There are many variables to be determined.

thx for that thread, it has great arguments for both sides. But a question for you guys that are well into F22's or jsut knowledgeable, how much would it cost to replace all the internals in the f22 and then turbo it? And how much would it cost to get an h22? I'm trying to find out which would be more cost-effective, and which could give more power. How much power would you get from a turbo-ed h22 and how much would u get from a redone turbo'ed f22b1?

Also, what would "replacing the internals" intale? As in specifically what parts would I have to change. The more I read this other thread, the more I lean towards just building up the F22...

replacing internals, Crankshaft, Piston rings, Pistons, Rods, valves, Spings/retainers, Cam, valve seals, etc..
there used to be a guy who terrorized the forum who got banned, but he built his f22..

You might not need to build the F22b to boost it safely, it depends on how much power you want to make. If you spend a little extra money on giving the motor a great tune, I think it can handle 8 or 10 psi without any problem. Depending on what turbo you run and other components, that would probably put you somewhere around 250whp. The H22a with a few bolt-ons would probably make somewhere around 180whp and cost about the same. Keep in mind that boosting will take alot more planning and could result in alot more headaches than doing a simple engine swap.

well 250whp is more than plenty, I would probably replace some of the components just to make it a more reliable and so im not boosting on a 130k engine that probably wasn't meant to boost lol. What would you suggest to replace when building up the f22 abd what kind of cost are we talking here...

how much would that cost? I'd like to stay with the f22 just because it was made for a heavy car, unlike the one your talking about i'm sure...

haha, yea, I'm pretty much set on just rebuilding up the f22 and then boosting it but I still don't even know where to begin, what parts are good or not, and how much its going to cost me. I don't like surprises that have to do with my money lol

If you plan on boosting your f22, you should decide how much power you want to make before spending a whole bunch on internal work. The motor already has a cast iron sleeved block that is very capable of holding boost. It's also very inexpensive to replace a stock f22b if you were to fuck it up in it's stock form. If you are looking for 250 whp or less, you are probably safe boosting it stock. A good tune is more important than upgraded internals in my opinion.
Also, if you don't like surprizes that have to do with your money, putting a turbo in any car that isn't designed for forced induction might not be the best plan. Things can and will go wrong when piecing everything together so don't be too surpized when it happens.

Yea, I am not looking for power much more than that 250 whp mark but I want my engine to be sound and not worry about it blowing on boost. I figure I don't have to replace everything but some major components that would work better with the turbo might be a good idea. I definately want to get a great tune up, I just still don't know exactly what I need to do the tun up, I really need to learn about engines in general before I attempt to pull one out lol

I have alot of friends that go to school in mass, what college are you going to. Also URI has the best pharmacy program in the United states. I have a few friends in that program.

I think the s2k is the f20c like you said, not positive tho.
Shaved-I'm going to Mass. College of Pharmacy and I have been told by many older pharmacists that work with interns that my college turns out the best pharmacists by farover any other college, which includes Uconn, Albany, St. Joe's and URI. We have the best program in the U.S and are the first School in Boston and First pharmacy school in the country.
