This thread brings up an interesting query. Are there any switchblade keys we can get? I see people selling newer tsx switchblade keys in the BM all the time, I would really like something like that!

It should be quite doable, we dont even need a chip like they do on newer models. In fact I bet you could buy a fob on ebay and mod your key to work using a dremel tool in a few hours. and than some mods to the inside to make the remote work. I'd have some fun making one, but I'm low on cash right now.

mike, i think your remote is the same as the second gen CLs and the 2nd/3rd gen TLs. my dads friend has a 06 TL and his remote looks just like that

I don't like having to much hanging from the ignition. So I separated mine...

I bought a 2nd gen remote and shaved down the inside of the fob, made a few cuts to the rubber inside and then shaved down the board from the 1st gen fob. Fits and is functional.

I definitely want a switchblade key though... If the 97's dont have a chip, could they be made to work with a newer tsx switchblade key if properly programmed?

theres a thread some where about this, i think we came to the conclusion that the RL key would be a better alternative.
EDIT:
https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-cl-1997-1999-56/switchblade-key-first-gen-cl-699988/ here it is.

For some reason whenever i see this topic, i hear this song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYMbXYXdo9o

Smile for me daddy
(What ya lookin at)
Let me see ya keys
(let you see my what)
ya,ya keys ya ya ya keys
(Rob da jewelry store and tell them make me some keys)
she said, Smile for me daddy
(What you lookin at uh)
I wanna see your keys
(You wanna see my what)
Ya, ya keys ya, ya, ya keys
(And da whole top diamond and da bottom row's gold)

I like to see people with 20 lbs of chit on their keys, then they wonder why the ignition sw. goes bad. Chicks are the worst! They put EVERYTHING on there. Keep em light!
