With all due respect mtlcl30, please stop describing Montreal and save yourself further embarassement. You're not the only person from Montreal area registered and this site and I'm sure that many people would agree with me that you are paying our city/province no justice.

I need to clarify a few things and also respond to other comments made by another member from calgary (who has likely never been to Montreal by the sounds of it).

I have lived in montreal all my life and there is nothing much different about it compared to Calgary or toronto for example (which I have been many many times), the biggest difference being that the first language is french, but as a tourist that makes no difference since everyone speaks english anyways. Notice that I have mentionned nothing about separatism because it is simply confusing 2 subjects (tourism and politics).

Trying to lure people with "Easy French Girls" "Thowing pussy at Americans" ... What the hell are you talking about ??

Not to burst anyones bubble, but in case anyone was considering coming here to pratice sex tourism with the easy french girls, chances are if you ain't getting any in your own home town you ain't gonna be getting any more in Montreal

But on the other hand if some of you are interested in Culture, historic sites (from late 1600 ->), if you like to party all night in a big city then Montreal is a definate must do stop. Montreal is the party capital of canada, in summer there is always a festival going on, biggest being the jazz festival. Formula1 weekend is also extremely wild and popular (over 1M travellers are in town).

I hope that I have somewhat cleaned up Montreals image a bit. The idea of the topic was good in the first place, I just don't want anyone to have any misconceptions if they should take the time to drive up here.

you might have cleared things up a bit, but i wont be going up there anytime soon going by the information my dad told me, who as been there before. i think i wouldnt take the risk and go to toronto, closer anyways.

 

Im down to visite for a week or so this summer. a nice little vaca. all the acura's on the east coast could drive together. where is montreal in ca nan na da anyway? actually i just looked at a map. thats about 5-6 hours from me. less of a drive then maine. thats usually a 5 hour drive.
