Legality of Clear Bumper Lights

Has anybody here either been pulled over for the clear bumper/signal lights or know anything about the rules regarding them?

I am intrested to know the various laws about them. Im sure some cops are a lot more hardass about them than others. A few days ago I read that as long as the bulbs arent red, blue, or green that the signal lights are okay

let me know

you are required to have an amber reflector on the front of the vehicle.

my friend has clears on his 2.3, and he got pulled over here in Seattle, WA.

he told the cop straight up "give me a ticket, I have stock bulbs in there and I know I'm gonna win the fight in court" so I think the cop just backed off and left.

in cali youre "supposed" to have a reflector in the front. Your front turn signal can be white to orange. In the back it can be red to orange

I just got pulled over last week in MA while driving down 91S for my clear corners. He said there had to be a orange bulb in them to be legal in the state of Mass. Never had a problem in Ct. Oh and then the asshole added on that i had an illegal exhaust. That was a fast 85 bucks.

In California if the cop wants to really be a dick he can get you for any kind of mod to a stock lamp rarely happens. Most cops, as long as you have orange bulbs in them they, really don't care.

well thats why he got pulled over... clear bulbs + clear lenses = ticket. it has to be amber bulbs for turn signals in washington.

for most states you can have clear lenses as long you have need amber bulbs as your turn signals. there are only a few states that let you get away with white bulbs. check your state laws for the lighting requirements

i had purple blinkers.. and i flashed them infront of cops all the time, nothing happened to me...

OREGON AND WASHINGTON!

my friend has blue blinkers on his accord.. he says he's never been pulled over...

but my other friend had blue side markers (that stay on.. and blink) and he got pulled over every other week.. but no ticket for him ever.. just a bunch of warnings

There is a DOT (i.e federal) requirement that all vehicles must have amber reflectors at the front corner/sides and red reflectors at the rear corner/sides. Because this is a DOT requirement it applies to all 50 states. Clear corners are legal *only* if the vehicle has another reflective lens of the appropriate color on the appropriate area of the car. So if you clear your corner lenses and you have no reflective orange anywhere on the nose of the car (visible from the side) then this is illegal in all 50 states. Some cops don't know this regulation, and some just don't care, but it is the law.

Bulb color is a different issue altogether and varies by state.

just tell the cops.. "i dont know how to replace them.. my friend installed it for me" .. and the let u go with a warning.

my friend got pulled over once every two weeks, and he says he never gets a ticket.. just a warning to get it replaced when he has time

what are they gonna do? just tell them "i dont know officer.. ... are they illegal?"

ingnorance is bliss

ah.. i remember one thing..

it was not for bulbs, but tint...

when i get caught first time, i said to him that "when i bought this car, it was on it" and he gave me warning....and i told him that I would take them out 2~3 days later.. and he said that if u don't, i'll give u a ticket next time..

i said "okay.. sorry 'bout that" and when he left, i was like "screw that.. i'll keep this"

but a week later?? i got caught... and.... it was HIM again..-_-;;

he was like "oh.. i've seen you before.." and he gave me a DAMN TICKET!!
