i agree... but the PIAA's run for about 80 dollars here in can.

i put in white LED's in my turn signal lights before and it became hyperblinkers.. so i changed it back. I dont think they are that safe because they arent that bright.. well the ones i got at least

The "Matrix" LEDs at www.autolumination.com are SUPER INSANE-O bright. They were actually kind of too bright for me. I got some blue incandescent 194's for my rear license plate lights but I felt they were too dim, so I later got the 5-led matrix bulbs. They were WAAAAAAY too bright so I went back to the incandescents.

This is the link to the 194 bulbs you need if you want ultra bright lights. Check out the bulbs at the top (the 5 LED "Matrix" bulb)

If you scroll almost all the way to the bottom, you can get silver incandescent bulbs that shine amber for $2.99.

Here are some pics so you can see the difference in brightness
LED 1:

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
LED 2:

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Incandescent 1:

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Notice how in the LED pics there is a visible light glow on the ground under the rear bumper. There is no glow on the ground in the incandescent pic.

The difference is WAY WAY WAY more noticeable in person btw. The LEDs are so bright it casts shadows!

BTW I just ran outside to take the last pic so yeah I know it's shaky!

Right now I have blue led's in my trunk, both doors, the 2 rear license plate lights, and my dome light. I have white led's for my maplights and upper corners. I'm thinking about changing my dome light, trunk light, and rear license plate light back to the white led's i had before... leaving just the door lights.

I see lots of people get clear turn signals from ebay.. don't know why but I can never find them on the net when I google.. anyone have a site for first gen CL accessories such as that? I do not want to put a body kit or wing or anything on the car but I would like to change the ugly orange turn signals (silver CL3.0). I would also like to clean out my headlights a bit and replace the dimming bulbs with something a bit better. any suggestions on what to put in the headlights for bulbs? I like a silver/yellow color scheme but I really can't find certain things for this car as I could for my older cars..

If you put clear lenses on, they are illegal in pretty much every state. However with more and more cars coming stock with clear tail lights and turn signals, you probably won't get much trouble. I would recommend that you at least put amber bulbs for your turn sigs. I just ordered the chrome amber bulbs, they're being delivered today, soon as fedex shows up, they'll be there after I get home from happy hour after work.

Search on here, there are a million threads about new brighter head lights, 9006 low and 9005 bulbs. As for turn signals, the ones on ebay are the same ones that the online stores sell. I found my clears at a store, then went on that stores ebay store, and paid like half the price for the same product.

Amber turn sigs are best, they are sure to be legal where ever you go. As for LED vs. Incandesent, that is a matter of preference. I also use Polarg Hyper whites for my clear corner markers. I love them, they are plenty bright...

I guess what I am looking for is a brand name on the clear turn signal lenses (not the bulbs) so I can find them, on ebay or anywhere hehe.. I will look for those brands of bulbs though, just need the lens brand name..

you'll need to get dual fillament bulbs and mess around with some relays. I wouldnt recomend it because you might melt your turn sig housings

I used a site called superbrightleds.com They have led bulb replacements for your car all different sizes and and types. I replaced all my bulbes in my car (except headlights and hi beams) with leds. If you get some of the larger clusters theya re birghter than the regular filimaent bulbs. the only detractor is that after changing out all my bulbs. my signal indicator blinks fast because it thinks ther is a bulb out when its actually the leds have less resistance and use less power so the car thinks a bulb is out. this is alot why my break indicator light is on as well. the sell on the site a kit to get the indicators workign properly if you are conserned about the fast blinking indicators or the break light light. I alos replaced my interior light with leds as well.

has any one changed out the alarm led at the driver side door? If so is it an easy process. I want to exchange the current led with a really bright alarm indicator.

theres really no different "brands" theyre all pretty much the same. If you cant find a set on ebay. Try www.autodynamic.com or procarparts.com

I remember seeing someone who did that for like their prelude or something. Youd have to take it apart and solder on a new led

If your car is black, keep the amber (factory) corners. Otherwise go with clear corners if your car isn't black. IMO

Black looks nice with clear, but not that polarized purple shit. There is an old SI Prelude in the hood that looks all riced out... It had nice wheels, but the guy has a steel wheel on the right front... looks like shit. Plus he has those fugly purple looking reflector corners.

I still don't understand what you're talking about.
Click on my username, homepage, and check out how my amber corners
look on my black CL. Also, if you look at Jamolie's CL ( So who's the Don of all CL's thread ) with amber corners it looks sick, but on CL's that are not black I suggest clear corners.

How are these 5-LED matrix bulbs for use as parking light/corner replacements? Do they blind people or anything? I'm thinking of getting the hyperwhites or ambers.

Gonna bump this since it has some decent info already.

Since I haven't seen a discussion on this front (LED turn sigs)...

Has anyone replaced their turn signals with LEDs that are as bright or brighter during the day? I want to put in amber LED turn sigs so they blink amber through the clear housing but I want to make sure they're bright enough for day time signaling.

I tried doing LED bulbs, but they need resistors added to the circuit, because the car sees them as burned out bulbs and rapid blinks
