Latest Autocross pics

Here are a few pick from the autocross i raced at 2 weeks ago. I Let a buddy of mine race my car since he drives a wrangler(in the back of the vetter pick. His best time was an 80.5, mine was a 77. I would have felt like an idiot if he beat me in my own car. I almost witnessed a horrible accident at the race. The black vette was being raced by a 40 something guy and his 16 year old son. It is a 405hp Z06 with hoosiers. I would be scared out of my mind to try and drive that thing, and this kid was learning on it. Any way his first 2 runs were uneventful so his father let him take it out by himself. And what does he do, puts it into a flat spin toward the staging line.....He was travelling at almost 60 when he lost control, he slid to a stop 3 feet from a waiting drop top TT. I didnt know whether close my eyes or grab the camera.

I think i need some sway bars

Looks like fun

I'm running a bigger rear anti-sway bar on my 3.0. Makes a big difference.

CLUofI - the balance is a lot better but it still pushes/under steers at the limit. Thinkin about gettin a rear lower brace to stiffen up the rear even more.

It's really not, PerFecto. I did the autoX at Turner field last year and it just didn't feel right for the car. Too much wear and tear on your clutch, brakes, engine, tranny, tires. I think I also managed to bottom out my car on some turn due to the body roll and this was with the eibachs and kyb agx's set to full stiffness.

Plus, you need to downshift into first on some turns and that just plain hurts to do. The car also understeers like a mother.

I’ve done some driving in my 3.0 CL and the car is just too heavy and rolls so much! I mean me and my friends went for a joy ride in our cars late one night in an old business park and their wheels weren’t leaving the ground and not making a sound… Mine on the other hand were squealing bad! One was a ’97 GSR with $2400 in suspension and the other was a 02 SI shocks and springs … Funny thing is I was still able to keep up with them

It is at an old dog racing track's parking lot.

I have raced against a modded 240sx, and have consistenly ran better times than him. That could mean that he is just a bad driver, but if he is, he is consistently bad.

a modded 240sx and a 240sx with a s14 Silvia engine are two different things plus with an upgraded suspension and tires and driven right those things will fly at an autox ... also what year 240sx was it? was it an SE or base? was it an AT or MT?

That's awesome Eric

How are the Kumho's holding up under those conditions...are they worn down to slicks yet?

The kumhos are almost smooth on the inside, i need to get them remounted on the opposite sides. The kumhos sure do stick better when they are really worn down. For the spring i am going to get some other rims to put falken azenis on just for racing.

I dont exactly know too much about the 240, it was the most recent model made and it was a manual and had new wheels/tires on it. It was in the STS class so it had some other mods as well but i dont know exactly what they were

There were only 5 people driving in my class, i got 3rd, 1st and 2nd were vtec preludes. my roommate got 4th and 5th was some older VW.
