We just found out that 75-80 raceway will be open for the last day of the season tomorrow, Sunday November 23, 2003.

Dustbuster4 will be trying to hit the magical "13 second" 1/4 mile in his heavily modded 3.0 CL, while myself will be just trying to crack the lower end of the 15 second range with what may just be my last possible run in my CL. I have an appointment with a dealer for a possible trade up to a Jeep Sunday afternoon. If the deal looks shady, I am keeping the CL, if not, I'll be singin' 'Rocky Top' as I cruise through the woods with my bike rack on the weekends in my 4x4.

So please wish us well or meet us there early and lets send D4 on his way to 13 seconds!!!!


My best guestimate for times:

Dustbuster4 - 13.68-13.80 range

Dajuice27 - 15.18-15.3 range

Too bad I filled up my tank this morning!!!!!

Just a warning, GET THERE FUCKING EARLY

when pomona closed down for street legal drags we got there like at 4 a.m. saturday morning for that day. We weren't even close to making it in. So we showed up saturday night and camped out inline in my buddies trailor and it was still packed. I think they stopped letting cars get in line around midnight saturday night.

I just noticed that my fucking bottle warmer is not working! :angry:

I'm not sure if there's a short, or if a fuse has blown! Too dark to check now; I'll check it out in the AM.

If it's not working, I guess I'll throw the bottle in the front and blast the fucking heat on it for a while!

This track is small enough that there shouldn't be too long of a line (it's sorta' a country-hick track compared to the 4 or 5 other tracks around here).

IT IS SIMPLY NOT MEANT FOR ME TO GET INTO THE 13s!!!!

My first run was shit! Wheel spin forever!!! 2.6 60ft!!! :thumbsdn:

Then the track officials stopped letting us run because they did not have an EMT on-site!

Sooooo . . . we sat there for like an hour. I left my bottle warmer on, and it KILLED my battery. The car wouldn't jump with a battery pack!!!!

At this point, I decide to call it a day, and have dajuice27 run me to an auto store to get a new battery and call it a day. But, I'm worried because I'm 2nd in line, blocking about 25 cars from running. Eventually dajuice27 (thanks, man!) found me some jumper cables and the car started after 3-4 times!

So, I decide to run the next 1/4-mile (the easiest way to get out of the track area). I put on the parking break for my burn out. During the burnout, I hit red line, and shifted to avoid blowing my engine. I never paid attention to the hand brake!!! So I ran a 14.4 with my hand brake partially engaged!!!! When I got the the end, my ABS light was on!!!

So, I left the track and went home!

Well, there was one good part. On my first run, I SMOKED a Saleen Mustang!!!!!

It was a 281--Supercharged version. He also spun like mad--BUT A WIN IS A WIN!!!! :P

The dude was really cool about it and remarked how surprised he was that I killed him!

I ran against him the 2nd time also, and he beat me by 0.3 seconds (remember my hand brake was on)!

As I was leaving, he rolled down his window and asked why I let him win! He said (QUOTE) "I'll never under estimate an Acura again!!!!!!" NO shit, that's what he said!

Yeah I ran, and some of my worst times at a track in the CL. I am so ashamed, I won't even post them.

It really doesn't matter now, I am trading in the CL tomorrow for a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo equipped with an infant car seat. Maybe I can get the Probe fully built up over the winter and then add the happy juice to run some mid to low 14's next spring!

Maybe my foglights

Remove my Amp and Sub Box

If I had time, I'd swap with Bogdan the exhaust again and try to cop some stock wheels and swap my 18's with someone

I'm glad I didn't put in the 100-shot pills. I wouldn't have gotten off the starting line.


I forgot to mention that I was running on Nitto DRAG RADIALS! I still just spun my tires!


Dennis: Sorry to see you sell the CL, but I know you'll be pleased with the Jeep. It's just more practical with a family (especially a baby girl).

Try to put back as much of the stock CL stuff before trading it in!!!! You can get some extra $$$ to mod the Probe with. See if you can get a few extra days before you need to turn it in. I'm off on Thursday (until 2:30pm) and I can help you.

juice, what kinda system do you have other than the subs and amp? if you have some nice interior speakers, would you be interested in selling them?
