Its time for me to change my stock air filter and I was debating on wheter to buy a regular filter or a K&N drop in filter. Is there any increase in performance?

 

No. Only advantage is not having to buy more paper filters. Get CAI for performance.

 

Spend the extra 50 bucks on a short ram if you are tight on cash. If not, go for the cai.

 

And be sure the short ram has a k&n filter.

 

There's a slight improvement in performance with the K&N, but the main reason to get it is so you don't have to keep replacing the air filter, since you can just clean it. If you're looking for performance, everyone is right about just getting a CAI or a Short Ram with a K&N filter on it...you probably won't notice the K&N drop in after the first day or 2, then you'll think it was all in your head

 

if you buy the AEM CAI does it come with the K&N filter or do u have to buy it seperate?

 

Comes with.

 

the aem intake doesnt have a k&n filter, they have their own filters that is supposedly better than k&n
