Just an update on the gas-light people
Hey,
After reading the thread about people's gas lights not coming on, I decided to do a test of my own (not really, I was just too damn lazy and cheap to get gas). Anyways, I drove the car when the needle was on the needle underneath the E and the light didn't come on. After driving for a few more miles, the gas warning light dimly came on and then brightly came on....and then I nearly ran out of gas.
The point is, I think many people here have fully functional gas lights, it's just that no one ever really drives that low on gas to begin with.

well it'll be stupid to wait till the light comes on before you get gas.. besides you'll end up spending more on gas if you wait till it hits the E mark.. oh well.. i'm sure it's embarassing to be stranded on one street because you forgot to put gas

It's also a good idea to fill up yur tank when the needle is under half to minimize the chance of condensation forming on the cold metal in your empty gas tank and causing water to get in the fuel. At least that's what I've been told.
