just installed my v2

i just installed my aem v2 intake and its sounds very nice b/w 3-4 thousand rpm's. The only thing that i don't like is the hum at idle. From what i have read, this is normal, so i wasn't worried about it, but i didn't really like it. Its not too bad since, if i have my radio on, it won't be audible. other than that, i did feel a slight increase in response to my foot hitting the gas, but nothing crazy.
-any input of comment from other users of the v2 are wanted
thanks

My intake hums as well, I like it, though my a/c compressor makes alot of noise. It works fine, but it's noisy. I may need to check the 134a level.

I love how my short ram intake sounds on my V6 when I go gun it.
Vrrrooommm!!!

Did you notice more HP with the V2?
Did you have a stock intake before or a short ram?

I installed the V2 about 3 months ago and haven't really noticed any hum at idle--sounds pretty quiet to me. But when you punch it

I had the stock intake before and noticed a definite acceleration improvement with the V2 (2.2CL).

I've noticed better gas milage as well as the added power and sound since installing the V2 in my 2.2.

just tell them to walk and slap em

mine doesnt make as much noise anymore so it probably wears in

here is a pic of the intake.
-after driving around a bit, the hum, isn't too bad, just needs some getting used to, but one thing i noticed that i am not sure if is normal or not is that when i hit the gas lightly or let go slowly, i hear a low volume, but high pitched noise. I turned on the radio and i could still hear it, since it is high pitched and it gave me a headache. I only comes when i hit the gas lightly(in the beginning for a second or two) or when i let go of the gas slowly. Is this normal?

thanks

At a certain rpm the velocity of the air passing through the filter created that high pitched sound, some would refer to it as "Wooot woooooot."- bubb rubb

It's normal. My SRI does it all the time when I tap the gas lightly, however when I push down the gas pedal some more it shuts off and my exhaust starts to howl.

yea, it only happens when i hit the gas slightly, and its like a high pitched tone, but the volume is very low and it only last for a couple of secs.
-any way to get rid of this sound?

I doubt it, you're just going to have to learn to deal with it. I'm sure the whistle sound my short ram intake produces is more annoying than your humm.

that whistle is annoying, but not as annoying as the loud UFO hum. That made me buy a CAI with K&N, just to try and lessen the humming.

94-97 4 cyl EX Accords to be exact... regular filter vs. dual funnel air filter? I just slapped on the one my AEM CAI came with..

well, its been about a week and some now and i am finally used to all of the different sounds and i like them.
- however i do have one concern, it rained yesterday and i took a peak in through the side of my fenderwell lining (a clip is missing so i can push it in a see in a bit) and its seems that it does get wet there. the filter was wet and the area around it also. I mean it wasn't soaked or anything, but it was wet. I am just worried about any water getting in. I was also very careful and didn't go over any big puddles. So is this ok, or should i worry and can water slowly get sucked in so over time it can hydrolock the engine?

thanks

Unless you're planning to drive through a lake or standing water two feet high hydrolock isn't going to be a problem. Water will start coming into your car interior before you hydrolock it.

Definitely replace the clip though.

so small amount of splashing getting the air filter wet and maybe sucking in small amounts of water will not hurt?
-yea, i have to go to the dealer and get some more clips
