Just Installed...

Just installed my Venom 400 :P

Definitely feel more of a pull and I think the ride is actually smoother now that VTEC lag is gone. I'm not sure what VXCL was talking about it not being good for daily driving cause its sooo much nicer now. Mabey its cause my Venom 400 says "V 2.0" on it

I'll get pics up soon. Smoked my friend's Monte Carlo on the way back...DEFINITELY helps.

I'll get pics up after I get back to college.

Glad you like it.

Where did you mount "the box"?

I used to have mine mounted under the hood, near the master cylinder. Today I moved it inside and put it in the glove box.

I noticed that as my master cylinder became hot, the Venom's performance became more erratic. I figured that having it inside would eliminate any heat problems.

Edit: I keep mine on 24/7.

Yo, what is a Venom and what do it do? Hell, you might as well tell me how much it costs and how hards it is to install to cuz once you tell me what it is I prob will want it. By the way, I got a 97 2.2 if that makes a diff.........Go for it now.

Buy a Corvette, My vette that I sold you could hook up a laptop and change the main program. You could edit everything the car did from amount of fuel pressure to shift points and how hard it shifted. You have an Acura CL and a laptop doesn't work for that. So we get Apexi VAFC and Venom 400's.

actually clac..

first off i'm sorry you had an automatic corvette, i was unaware they madem but i'm not hip on muscle.. but secondly.. you can use a Digital Fuel Injection unit on almost any car, and hook a laptop up to it and change the fuel maps, vtec, boost, ignition.. and monitor everything from your mph to your oil pressure.. AEM, Wolf3d, Hondata, are just a few makers of these DFI unit's..

I had a 3000 stall torque converter, so I could get a hole shot on the 6 speeds. The auto did suck in that kind of car. Amyway how much for a DFI. I am slowly learning on all this forgien stuff. I do know I need an H22A, but that will have to wait.

No extras need (beyond extra wire length).

It's not actually fastened in the glove box. It's just feely lying in there. I may permanently mount it in the storage compartment between the front seats, but for now, it's in the glove box.

I mounted mine right next to the Cold Air Intake, on the side wall. They "recommend" you mount it under the hood. I had originally planned to put it inside the car and have the red light attatchment hook up next to the unused box next to the hazard lights...But I got lazy :P

Didn't really care for messing with wire extensions and drilling and whatever...So I just hooked it all up under the hood. Took me 15 mins, MAX. I love those spade connectors that allow you to just plug right into the wires without splicing.

I got to try the Venom out again today. I feel bad for that riced out civic. After I switched to 2nd gear it seemed like he was standing still.

Now to install those damned guage pods.

Oh yea...almost forgot. I got the unit at customrim.com for $270.00 and free shipping. Amazing price, can't find anyone who can beat that.

The more mods, the more difference the Venom will make. Might want to take that into consideration.
