JDM Prelude shifter assembly question...

After looking around for a lude shifter for the past 6 months, I have finally found one! I got my hands on a 94 JDM Prelude SR-V shifter assembly with the plate and everything. My question is can I just remove my stock shifter and shifter plate and just bolt up the Prelude one? Or do I absolutely have to use my stock CL shifter plate? I know there was some clearance issues with the CL plate and Lude shifter hitting metal plates, I was thinking that the Lude shifter plate would eliminate that problem... Someone must have some intel on this. I will only be installing it next week after finals...
here are some pics of the assembly

it looks like it should bolt up. compare those pics to the ones I took in the shifter DIY. you wont know until you actually try though, but its not that bad to take apart your center console and see wassup.

I was looking at the DIY and I was wondering, do you guys have pics of the small shift collar you had to buy off of www.hondaautomotiveparts.com ? Or can you describe the piece? Is it just a rubber collar that goes on the screw before you slide it on to the shift cable?

its basically a really small metal cylinder that goes inbetween the two metal pieces. Then you slide the bolt through it. It helps to makes the shifts smoother.

I'm pretty sure it won't bolt right on. I had the same situation and the prelude base just isn't as long as the CL shifter base so it doesn't work out. I was all excited that i wouldn't have to switch that out but when i got it appart it didn't fit right. you can always try, just make sure to leave enough time in case it doesn't work.

I think i'll be able to get the sleeve at home depot or something,.. it sounds pretty basic. As for the plate not fitting, it's not that big of an issue all I want is the shifter, if it fits then good but if it doesn't it's just a little more work. Thanks for the responses btw

I ordered the sleeve from the dealer, I posted the part number and I'll post a pic of it tomorrow in the DIY forum to help future modders
