Depends on if your car is lowered yet or not, but I always use the 4 stock brackets on the frame for using the tire jack, they're the strongest and most stable pieces.

well. I usually jack the front up high enough to slide the jack stands in on the sides where the lift points are.
& I do the same for the back.

"Stock jack" as in the jack that comes with the car? Don't use that. Just buy one of those cheapo $20 rolling jack from walmart or sears. I bring that to my friend's house, since my main one weights 100lbs. Using the center hooks, it lifts the car enough to support the car w/ jack-stands. Just make sure the jack length-wise is perpendicular to the bumper. Though it's wider than the stock scissor jack, jacking it from angles is asking for trouble.

As I'm reading Nakamichi's post. I totally agree with him. I didn't know you were using a stock jack. I have a racing jack b/c my car is slammed on the floor. Since your car isn't lowered yet just go out n buy a regular sized 2 ton jack. I don't use my scissor jack for anything unless it's to change a flat tire.
But I jack up the front n rear from tow hooks & I don't have a problem at all. You just need a sturdy jack.
