J30A1 intake?
im wonder would it work to attach a filter right to the throttle body like that? would it work better for proformance? there isnt a intake tube so theres no resistance to air comming in at ALL. I know warm air my be a factor but haveing no resistance to air flow other then the filter?

wouldnt be no diffrent than a short ram, except with no noise caused by the pipe, so itll probally gain the same as a short ram, but your gonna also bring in a lot more heat cause its next to the motor and not near a vent or anything

Will the huge filter really fit in the engine compartment directly on the throttle body? I know it wont in the 2.3s, and its tighter in the 3.0 engine bay.

well first of all there would be no place to plug in the vacume lines or oil "breather" tubes, unless you rigged something up for that. You'd be better off getting a cold air intake, but unles syou modified the hood, you wouldn't be able to fit the filter in there when you closed the hood, plus it's right next to the egnien, and the heat is gonna probably decrease your HP over the stock airbox.
