j30 turbo ?'s

ok, ive search like a mofo for info on this. i seem to only find info for f22, 23, i know they make a turbo for this engine, but i am only interested in j30, i dont wanna swap engine, and yes i know ill need a dr evil tranny. and i dont want an sc superchager. also i know this will be a pain in the ass...etc. i wanna do it for my own enjoyement, and of course to be the fastest f'n cl araound
i am very ignorant as to turbo so please bear with me.

1. is there ant turbo for the j30? i assume not after serching.
2. what would it take to do a custom turbo (again i am ignorant as to turbo, so please explain in detail!)?
3. has this ever been done with a j30?
4. exactly what parts would i need? links and names would be appreciated
any help would be appreciated. im sure there are others who are wondering as well... oh, and i plan to do as much work as possible myself, ill make time a non-issue.

THANKS ALL!!!

1) there is no turbo kit for the j30 (only custom kits
2)PM ALLMOTOR or SCALBERT in the second gen forums (both working on custom kits now)
3) yes it has been done by some of the guys on the accord V6 site
4)like i said above PM one of those guys, it's not going to be cheap it's going to cost you like 6,000 for a custom kit plus another 4,000 for a built trans...

:imwithstupid:

it will be atleast 4g for the fmax kit i know and then you have to custom it a little more to fit the CL and then th tranny is an issue for sure, you will not get your stock tranny to last i would say more than 3 months with the turbo kit, our trannies suck balls

but if you got the dr. evil tranny and the kit, i know youll be fine, thats what some of the v6performance.net guy have on their v6's and they are running fine but your looking at like 5g for the tranny alone and another 5g at least for the custom kit

i would say dont do it case of the money for the amount of HP youll get and the troubles youll go through with it

hope i could help

unless you have the money, you should consider buying a 2.2/2.3 cl, or perhaps another car.

i wonder what the turbo manifold would look like

the space inside the 3.0's engine bay is so cramped. it'll be a difficult task to do, not to mention time-consuming like a motha.

i have seen the intake manifold form a type s on a first gen but the engine did not like it at all, it reved too high and caused the car problems, like puttering and high reving

the one thing you can do from the type s are cams, the TB, and maybe the pistons as well for some more HP but i think thats about it

I know HKS USA once built the turbo project for J30. Since the stock tranny was ****SH!T the kit was never offered for sale. Since Dr.Evil tranny is available you can try to ask them (HKS) the details.

there are many factors in determining a turbo j30's et.

eg: weight savings; what you have done to the motor; turbo setup; how well it is tuned; running on street tires or slicks etc..

there is room in the back of the bay, that's what HKS did w/ the old accord, also, some have put it underneath

there are numerous boosted J30's in sand rails, the motor can handle boost.
