Don't know if you guys saw my older post in Racing Stores about me beating an iS300, but I raced that same dood again, similar outcome! I guess once just wasn't enough for him.
I'm on the way home from work and I see some HID's comin up close to me so I slow down to see who it is and I see the same guy from like 2 weeks ago. We cruise next to each other waiting for a red light which we got. I honked and pointed at the light for assurance, he nods his head. Light goes green, he jumps half a car ahead. Top of first, we're tied, top of second I'm about half a car on him. Middle of third he's at my rear bumper but had to shut down cuz we caught traffic. The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat.

I dunno monkey, here are the stats on the 02 is300.

Max. Power [Bhp at rpm] 215 at 5800
Max. Torque [lb-ft (Nm) at rpm] 218 (296) at 3800

Sedan Sportcross
0 - 60 mph [secs] 6.8 7.4
1/4 mile [secs] 15.1 15.6

Both are faster than our cars, but you def didn't beat the Sedan, thats almost a sec faster than our car. There is a chance that you beat the sportcross, and if you did, that a way to represent a-cl.com

Ding069, I was there. I beat an iS300 sedan, not sure on the year or if it was MT or AT. My performace modifactions only include an AEM.cai and TypeS cams.

What are you talking about? Monkey has a 3.0 which has 15 less hp stock. With the intake and cams, he probably has more than 215 crank hp. Also are you saying that 3.0s run 16s in the quarter and 8.0s 0-60s with only 15 less hp stock, while the all too powerful IS300 with 215hp runs that much faster. Your point makes sense with a 2.3 NOT a 3.0.

Why am i out of line for saying that statement?
The acura 3.0 cl, 0-60 in 7.6, FWD 200 HP, 195 LB's, 3219 lbs
The lexus is 300 0-60 in 6.8, RWD 215 HP, 218 LB's 3255 lbs
With monkey's listed mods, there is NO way he beat the sedan! It is almost a sec faster, 15 more hp with and 23 more lb's of torque. Not even to mention that it's RWD. Who knows if the IS is running mods? Like i said, both cars stats wise are faster than a stock 3.0, so if he beat either of them, that a way to represent a-cl.com. Why do i reveive a "What are you talking about?" AtlCL?

Nah, me being a dumbass I didn't do a before and after dyno. Dollar wise parts/labor it was under 600 something. I'm not too sure, it's been a while.

Why do people think is300's are fast???
they arent. I've raced a few in my 2.3 and I take them hard off the line every time. They pull about 1-2 cars ahead by the time were at 80. My car is slow and they don't beat me by much. All I got is e/i/h in a 5-speed 2.3. I think a 3.0 will eat um up stock. Auto's anyways.

Please explain to me how a car that weighs a bit more, has only 15 more hp (compared to a stock 3.0CL) OR actually has less hp compared to monkey's modded CL can be a whole second faster? Please tell me what makes that car go sooooo much faster with equal or less hp? So you saw some numbers in one magazine, do you believe that is what every single driver and car run? Shit, some magazine's give the type S a 0-60 of 6.7, does that mean the IS can also kill a 260hp CL?

The car is RWD, if you didn't know, it is a lot easier to push then pull, a lot of power is lost in FWD cars. I am not gonna argue with you if the car is faster, the stats don't lie. Thats all i wanted to say, and if you still need proof an IS is faster, do the research for yourself.

HUH....I thought Monkey's 3.0 has a CAI and S-type cam....making more hp's. While the IS300 must of been stock if Monkey beat him. What are you guys arguing about? Of course stock, factory numbers are gonna be higher for the IS.

It might be easier to drag race a RWD car because it's easier to get traction, but your statement about FWD cars losing more power is plain ignorant and wrong. There is actually more loss in RWD cars than FWD because power has to be transfered from the engine, which is in the front to the rear of the car. If both cars are automatic, this is a very close race. The IS would have a slight edge if it was a manual though.

everyone here knows that it's the DRIVER not the Car that wins the race...Stats don't mean shit if you aren't pushing a car to it's limit.....and ATLcl is right, RWD cars lose more HP that FWD..but it is not a huge difference..you will lose about 25% to the wheels w/ FWD and about 30% w/ RWD...

btw..ATLcl..I am in ATL too we should meet up, did u go to ASL on sun?
