Anyone know where to get a decent cold air intake for the 3.0? Ebay doesn't have a huge selection and I hate buying from them. Any pricing or brand suggestions would help.

ebay is the way to go unfortunately

edit: unless you have more money than brains and need a $200 metal pipe with a filter on the end

K&N cone filter that fits it
= CAI

But if you are afraid of buying it from ebay... go down to an autozone or something and piece together some piping and build it yourself. It will just cost a bit more.

The eBay intakes work fine as long as you throw a good filter on there. I have an AEM Dry-Flo that I paid more for than the intake, haha. But you don't need oil for the those which is worth it to me.

If you're going to piece one together, make sure you don't use pvc pipe.

I would suggest not to use an HKS intake.

In the Evo comunity we are getting huge negative reviews on the filtering capability of the HKS filter. We are getting dirty/damaged turbos because the filter elements dont properly filter dirt and dust.

K&N Wet... or AEM Dry are the best air filters out there...

Aside from OEM ... OEM rules!

I bought the weapon R for the 2.x off of andysautosport for my 3.0 for like $150 when it was on sale. I had to fiddle with it to make it fit just right. along with some extra tubing which was bout $180 all in but it fits. its like a cold air intake now

I payed $40 for my filter, which I need to upgrade and $5 for a 6" piece of exhaust pipe. It's ghetto, but I've yet to open the hood and have ANYONE say it looked bad.....and it sounds freaking great. When I first put it on, I stopped the car from time to time to check the temps on the filter and it was always cold and needless to say throttle response is incredible. I made this up as a temporary intake, but now I just dont see the point of going any further, unless I want to put her in a show or something.

^^^ looks good to me. There's no reason to spend a ridiculous amount of money on a piece of metal pipe that does doesn't do much beside make the car sound better at high RPMs. The HP gains of an intake alone are negligible.

I got my short ram for $30 + $45 filter. There's no reason to spend more than $80 on a metal pipe.

And for what it's worth, my 97 has an AEM V2 which is louder than my SRI.

V2's aren't worth the price, they are a joke.

Anyone here ever get a cel because of there egr valve getting stuck open from carbon deposits. My mechanic checked it out when I sent it in for an alignment. And said it could be from my weapon r I think it might be because of the tight fit between the port on the intake and the rubber tubing are so close to the battery that it might be pinched off. Any ideas on fixes, cel's really bother me even if there nothing

Insufficent EGR flow will throw a cel code. It was one of the things I got fixed under warranty from Acura. Normally they just take it apart and clean it out, but sometimes you have to have it rebuilt or replaced.
