intake mani. for 3.0!!!

I don't know if anyone has posted a thread about this but I was just browsing around when I found out that Venom makes an intake manifold for 97-98 3.0 cl. I tried finding pics and info for this product but can't find any. Does anyone have one of these on their car or know about them. I tried going to Venom's web but no pic or info.

You got a point there liloj. I do have doubts myself. I mean, how many 3.0 cl's do you see drag out there.?.

Its for the 4 banger. It was a misprint they never fixed. Or atleast if they did release a V6 version, no one has ever seen it.

I just got off the phone with a Venom representative. They said that they do make an intake manifold for the 97-98 3.0 CL, and on the website, the part numbers are different. They gave me a sales rep at Boro Performance, who i called and got prices. For aluminum the part is $480, polished it runs $580. If it wasn't so freggin expensive, i would have bought the thing. But for that price, i'd rather have headers.
Good find though, maybe someone with extra coin can buy one and try it out

Now that we have established that they do make one, what are the hp/trq. gains from adding an intake maifold? I have no idea, i don't know anyone who has done this mod. If they are comparable to that of headers, i will buy one just to say that i was the first on here. Don't bullshit me just so that i buy them tho

Why would it fit a 98 and not a 99? They're the exact same engine.

What we are saying is, that they made a prototype, but never produced it. If they had many of us would of had this A LONG time ago as it already had slots for a DP setup

okay, just read what you wrote above. I have a strong feeling they don't make this. Otherwise the V6P.net guys would of been all over this. I've also talked to venom numerous times over the years and it definately never went into production. Unless things have all of a sudden changed, which I highly doubt.

So, go ahead, try to get it, if you do, much props, if you don't, don't be suprised.

I went ahead and contacted them for everyone. As soon as I get a reply, I will post their full response about the product. I'm kind of interested as well as to what happened to this product.

I am confused about all this. I called, they knew exactlly what i was talking about over at Venom, she gave me the application and part number for it. I said "If i want to buy one, who do i talk to?" She then gave me the number of this Boro performance co. (888-974-2133), so i called with the description and part number and she gave me prices. Sounds to me like they had the part in production to give prices for it no? Maybe it has been put into production recently, who knows

Hey ding, how much was the price for this thing?what were they asking. Perhaps we could get a GB going on here and save ourselves some money. Give it a shot. If it IS comparable to headers then I'm definitely gonna go with it. Do share more info than just saying you called them.

I don't think the IM will give as good gains as headers. We need a tester.

well, I just spent 20 minutes looking for a dyno for ANY intake manifold and the only thing I found was for a integra venom intake manifold and TB upgrade which only got him about 5 whp . The car already had a CAI, upgraded cam gears, and a full exhaust system... kinda disappointing, but then when he used that in conjunction witha simple 30 shot of nitrous he gained about 40 whp !!! Perhaps it may not seem like much by itself, but in conjunction with a turbo, or something of the like it would probably kill it. I've "read" that it can get up to 22 HP gains by itself when used in conjunction to several other mods, so for our 3.0s with I/H/E and the IM, we could probably acheive 350 hp with nitrous, which is pretty fucking good.

I hope you mean a 200 shot. J30a engines dyno with i/h/e around 170-180. So you figure a 160whp from a 200 shot (20% loss) gets you a little over 350.

haha, I knew someone was gonna say something about that. Notice there isn'te a W on that last HP rating, thus making the whp rating about 280. Dustbuster is getting about 265 with I/H/E and a 75 shot of nitrous, so the way I figure it the Im would make about 15 whp. :P

Doubt it because it only fits 97-98 CL.
