Insulating my CAI?
Insulating my CAI?
I notice my CAI piping gets pretty dern hot.
Has anyone insulated theirs with basic plumbing insulation from the hardware store?
I don't know if people do this or not, but it just seems like a very logical thing to do..
Last Fall, I did a basic sanding and a single coat of paint on engine bay parts, but it got too cold to actually make something of it. I planned on finishing it and making it look really nice this Spring.
My only concern about this insulating is it's gonna take away from the beauty of the bay. The polished aluminum looks really nice, and I'm sure the insulation will look
.
I kind of don't want to do all that work to make everything look nice if I'm just gonna be putting all this ugly insulation in there.
Anyone have any ideas about covering the insulation with something not so ugly?

Its not pretty, but at the local auto parts store they sell a thermal wrap. You can use on all your hot parts like headers or intake to cool. I think its like 50-60bucks..
Like I said not pretty, but does the job.
