Question Instructions for removing back seats? And console?

Hi, all.

For some reason, my wife's 1997 Acura 2.2CL seems to have this incredible stench that has developed in the last 24 hours. I have looked everywhere inside the car, under the front seats, glove box, etc., etc., etc., but have not yet isolated it!

The next step is to remove the back seats (maybe the console too!) and see what might have crawled in and died!

But I need instructions! How do I go about removing the bottom back seat to look down there? How about the console? Is this an easy task or painful?

Thanks!

Z

Okay.

To remove the backseat, there are bolts that are between the seat back and the seat bottom. The two bolts you need are going to be located right on each side of the armrest, but in between the seat back and bottom. Once those two bolts are removed, you will need to unclip the seat using two clips towards the front of the seat bottom. Basically push these back and down (I think?) and the back seat should come out.

For removing the console, you can see these photo instructions on how to remove the radio. They show you how to remove the console:

Anyways, I hope this helps. Searching will also turn up a couple of helpful hints in case you get stuck.

The bolts to be removed are located where the red circles are. Hope this helps.

Thanks very much everybody. I will also do a search to see if I can find more info.

FWIW, I am more concerned about removing the base (where the butt rests) of the seat rather than the back itself - I should have been more clear in my original post!

Thanks again!
