Initial Idle / Idle
Initial Idle / Idle
When i start my car after waking up in the morning (after the car has been left alone
for more than 5-8 hours) the car starts, then the transmission RPM's in park are around
1,000 - 1,100. After about 5-15 minutes the revs go down to around half of that and chill
there. When I am driving, and this is completely random, the idle is sometimes really
low in park or D4 when i am stopped. Could this be my tranny? Could this be a result
of not using honda atf for a while? I am using honda atf currently and am sorta confused.
i got my alternator changed (again) for free this time because the one they gave me
before was bunk. Has anyone experienced this?

ok,
1 when you just start the car, it will always idle higher and then level off after the motor warms up.
2 when your driving or stopped or whatever, the rpm's can change a lot from the kick on of the cooling fan and/or the a/c. since its a climate control it could be that its kicking on or that the fan is kicking on.
Dude i really dont think there is any kind of problem there, it sounds like normal behavior. although if it was idleing high like 3000 or something and not 1000 it could be some kind of problem with the choke. my choke used to stick in an accord i had once.
