I was wondering if anyone knows some good indash monitors that dont play DVDs, Mp3s and all that other stuff. I just need a monitor in the dash where I can hook up my h4c|<3|> Xbox onto, I can run all that on it. something with at least a 7 inch display. or if there is such a thing at least. Thanks in advanced.

I was thinkin about the same set up, you can get a 7 inch around 200 on ebay. Do a search for 7 inch monitor

 

Are you looking for just a monitor, or a flip up in dash monitor? Dont get just the monitor, it looks cheesy by itself. I know Alpine makes a nice flip up monitor for around 700, but its only 6.5 inches.

 

I had a pioneer flip up monitor that played cd's. I got it with the in dash dvd player for $1,100 so it can't be all that expensive by its self.

 

Ive got a 7" Sony Flip Up Screen... its the Sony XAV-7W....check my WWW for picts...(i love mine)

try the alpine CVA-1004....I believe that is screen only, and it can be upgraded to NAV later on....great screen....i duno the price, but look on eBay....I'm getting one later on unless I find something bad about it

Yeah see, I dont need all the dvd, navi, mp3 stuff since I can run all that from my xbox (300 gig in there with all emulators and 45 games and 30 gigs of video and another 20 gigs of music.) so yeah .. I I really need is a "indash" flip up or whatever monitor that is cheep and good quality. and thanks everyone for posting.

 

yeah I dont want just the monitor.. I dont want a display screaming STEAL ME!!! hahah indash is the way to go.

I guess it must be worth what you pay for right? but then again the Alpine CVA-1004 is running around 550 on ebay. is this the Alpine you guys were talking about??

 

Thats exactly what i have. A single screen (flip up)....then if u want, u can hook up a dvd/cd/mp3 like i have...but u can just get the 7" screen alone.

i donno if your willing to pay the $$ for it but i love everything about my screen. i love every feature. (you might be able to find one used on ebay...i bought mine used with a 4 yr warranty ....

buy one of these, take off all the shrouding, throw out the mounts.

then just take the screen and hook it up as a double din thats always up.

after that, u could hook it up so no one can steal it. just custom mount

it so it has a lot of extra fasteners. YBLEGAL did something like this.

One comment to all who are looking for the cheapest possible in dash monitor: you get what you pay for. I've had to install the legacy piece of shit in dash monitors at work before and got HORRIBLE sound out of it. Save up your money and get either a Pioneer 6500 DVD or an Alpine. My Pioneer is touchscreen too They retail for about $1,599 depending on where you search. Check my www for pictures

 

Get the CVA-1005 it just has radio it also has two a/v inputs and it comes with a seperate brain that you can mount anywhere so that the a/v inputs are easily obtainable.

 

damn tons of badass info.. I've really narrowed it down to one choosen display, the Sony XAV-7W, for price wise and feature wise. it has the 7 inch display, and comes with the two input brain so you can attach it anywhere you want and have access to the A V inputs, plus its only 450 on ebay, the Alpine was cool too but a bit more expensice and only 6.5 inches close to Sony but just not that cool, and well yea I love Pioneer but it's too expensive for a brick in the window and out goes 1500. (I dont have a garage) so guys thanks for help and I'll hope to post some pics up soon with all the stuff mods on the car.

p.s. if anyone wants me to hack their xbox let me know. I'll give ya a deal hahah
