I'm an idiot

I'm such an idiot. I drove to work this morning... running a bit late so i was rushing. Anyways, I tried to squeeze by this car so i could get into the right lane to make a turn and i ended up scratching the entire right side of my car against a bush.. a prickly bush. Now my whole right side looks like its been keyed, although the scratches arent as deep as a keyed car. How do i get rid of those scratches w/o painting?

3pointzero... domnt sweat it.. if its only clear coat or slight paint scartches.. you can due to things... compund(buff) them out or wet sand the area.... If you know a good auto detailer, he should be able to do both... If not.. go to a body shop you trust where the=y wont try tricking you into painting car...

i know to detailers up here in ny that are pros at this stuff, both detailers who used to do body work.. too bad you aint here, id introduce you.. GOOD LUCK!

thanks casper, i think i'll try to polish and buff it. If it doesnt work, i'll see what the detailer can do.

Khawk- what is your email address? I'll try to contact him for you. I've emailed him several times and he has replied to me.

You aren't an idiot. Millions of people do crap like that every day. Does your insurance cover paint jobs? It may be a good idea to check out what you could get... just a thought.

3PointZero,

If the scratches are not too deep, there is nothing a good compound can't handle. Just make sure to be patient when rubbing because if you rub too hard, it won't do the paint any good. Good luck!

If it's not as bad as getting keyed, try Meguiar's Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner. It literally makes scratches disappear.
