IGNITION! WTF H@xx0RZ! i need to go to work tomorrow!

soo... i'm a little frustrated. today when getting out and into my car before and after work, it was really hard to turn my key in the ignition... it felt like when your wheel is locked and the key wont turn, so i jiggled the wheel a little, and it worked.

so a couple minutes ago, i'm taking my gf to safeway, and when i get back in the car after we get whatever the hell it was she wanted, the key will NOT go in the ignition. i examine the key, and the hole, nothing seems abnormal. i fool around with it, not wanting to force it, but eventually just jam it in. it goes in fine, and is a little rusty when i turn it.

when i get home its almost IMPOSSIBLE to take the key out, after about 2 minutes of jiggling and pulling both the wheel and key, it finally comes out. i tried my valet key as well, it seems it's the ignition itself.

whats going on here?

lol seriously..

the thing is i cant figure out when i could have been really rough on it or anything, or when i jumped in my car, jammed it in the ignition really quick and drove off. i'm pretty gentle when putting it in the ignition, cuz i hate the scratch marks it leaves all around when you miss the hole

now that you mention it, i have been working out alot more lately

dang.. well if you have the know-how i guess you can go in there and disassemble the ignition to find what the issue is.

Hookup the flathead screwdriver. Have you looked into the ignition switch recall? That could be it too

i had this problem in my galant..
i couldnt figure it out, but then i remembered i had a duplicate key lying around.. i examined both keys closely and realized it had become misaligned somehow, but just barely.
if you have a spare key, you should compare really closely.

im getting my ignition recall taken care of soon, along with the emissions recall/warranty thingymabobber

Simple solution

1.) Call local acura dealer
2.) Give them your Vin#
3.) Ask them if the ignition switch recall is recorded as being done for your car
4.) If not, bitch and say come tow my car and give me a rental. Problem solved

i didnt buy my car thru a dealer, think they'll still do that. ooh, wouldnt that be nice, driving around a complimentary TSX for a couple days

so, basically i can put the key in and take it out but i gotta JAM it in there and YANK it out... cant be good for it... but i might give the dealer a call... just because i wanna try for a rental.

It's an acura safety recall, any acura dealer has to honor the recall if your car is part of the recall
