Ignition problems...please help

Sorry, sorta long....

Lately I have been having an odd problem with my CL not starting. I will turn the key and hear nothing but a click coming from somewhere between me and the engine bay. I will wait a few seconds then try again and it will start with no problems whatsoever. Actually, sometimes I will have to try 2-4 times before the engine turns over. When the engine does turn over, nothing seems wrong at all....regular starter sound and it turns over the same amount of times as usual.

I thought at first it might have something to do with the clutch but if I try turning the key without the clutch pressed I hear nothing at all, not even the click. This makes me think it has something to do with the battery, starter, or the ignition mechanism somewhere.

The confusing thing is that the problem is really inconsistent and unpredictable. Sometimes I will go five days without the problem then all of a sudden it will happen three days in a row.
I am just afraid one day it won't ever start on my fourth or fifth try.

I did a search about this problem and I read something about a recall but nothing too specific. I bought the car from my aunt who had it serviced at the dealer 100% of the time so I am not sure what to do from here.

Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

take it to the dealer and have them run the VIN to see if it has been fixed under the ignition recall yet

Thanks for the help. The dealer is under new ownership now but they do still sell Acuras so I hope I won't have any trouble with them checking it.

By the way, its a single click, not a repeated one...

I had the same problem and it would take me a couple of tries to get the car to start. I went and got an new starter and it hasn't given me any problems with starting it yet. Hope this helps
