I'm trying to figure out which distributor cap and rotor kit I would need for my 2.3. There is a Crane cap that mentions the 2.2 CL, but the kit for the 98 accord does not mention the CL. Anyone know if we have a Hitachi or TEC ignition, as this is the only difference listed? I could probably figure it out if i took it apart, but if anyone knows Id appreciate it.

had a 97 f22 and now a 93 h22, They both have tec dizzy parts.

 

Thanks, I finally engaged the brain and crane cams has a little guide for how to tell which cap you need based on the screw locations. I'll check it out tomorrow, I have a feeling the 97 and 98 would take the same cap, i just didnt want to spend 70 bucks on the wrong part.

 

Well today i finally pulled of the distributor cap, and what do you know, Hitachi ignition. Of course! I have the worst luck ever, I bought the TEC kit and was all ready to hook up my new Crane HI-6 ignition. Based on measurements I ordered a different one now but it doesnt even have the accord listed as an application, but its the only other possibility. The one listed for the 2.2 is reverse bolt pattern so that cant be it. The one i got is only off by about a quarter inch on the holes but its too shallow to fit the rotor. If the new one I ordered isnt it im just taking it to a shop.
