I did the low beam to high beam bulb swap.
I sawped the bulbs in my low beams (9006) for a set of high beam bulbs (9005) today.
You have to modify the bulbs a little but it only took me 5 min for the first one and less for the second.
I could tell a big diffrence in light on the wall of my garage when I compaired the stock to the 1st one I did.
here is a link on the how toMore Light
I used a sodering gun with a flat blade and wire cutters.
I also put the o-ring on the new bulb from the low beam bulb I took out because with out it the bulb was a little loose in the headlamp.
I also left the old o-ring on the new bulb.

it blinds no one! unless u have them aimed incorrectly to begin with. if he was running 80 watt bulbs or a hid kit is another story. you will have absolutely no probs and no one will high beam you. i said it before and ill say it again. it is by far the cheapest lighting mod that results in great light output. i reccommed using piaa platinum white 9005s, but then it is no longer a $5-10 mod

Dont' the 9005's pull a higher temp.?
Did anyone with this mod get higher temp. sockets or wire?
I ask cause I recently burned out both of my headlight sockets simply by using a cheap quality 9006 bulb....just wondering what a 9005 might do to it.(although "cheap quality" might have more to do with it)

I have a question for anyone who as done this conversion, what method did you use, because the only method I knew was with a knive or dremmel tool to remove the inner tabs on the socket, i didnt need a soldering iron or washers, what is this mod that uses washers, seems to me if you have to man hanle the actual bulb oils from your fingers get on the bulbs and thats why they blow quickly

why do u guys question to do it or not?
it's a CHEAP mod....I did mine in 2 mins when I had it....just cut a few things and your done. If you don't like it, then take them out and put them back in your high beams. Simple.
You are NOT gonna blow jack....i've run up to 100w on low beams and 120w on high beams....ITS FINE!
Your headlight fuses will blow BEFORE anything gets damaged...they're set to that amp fuse rating for a reason.
