HP#s on F-MAX Turbo Kit?

I called up mmr last month and asked about the f-max kit, and the person told me that the kit gives the car 16hp for each pound of boost. Plus sice the compression of the 2.2 is a low 8.8:1, you can run a decent amount of boost. He said between 9 and 10lbs.
16 x 10 = 160
160 + 145 + my mods so far = pretty good

I NEED FEEDBACK!!!!

I WANNA DO THIS!

i dont think that you can run that much boost. But that would be really tight.

How much was the quote for the kit? And how much engine mod would you have to do (space-wise)?

I always thought that it was 11 HP for every 1 pound of boost? That number you gave sounds a little high? Anyone know what the math equation is?? I can't remember - or maybe i dreamt it up? HAHAHA

i had a turbo kit on my old 97 accord 2.2. i ran 15 psi for about 3 months or so and it started to detonate real bad. and yes you can run about 10 psi safely but i would highly recommend upgrading your fuel system and getting the apex super avc-r. i had my car dynoed when i was running 15 psi and i got 180 to the wheels with a lot of detonation. so you know it could have put down a lot more if it was finely tuned. at 5 psi, i got only 150 to the wheels however.

I wouldn't expect more than 220 or 230 hp to the wheels. Thats at 9 or 10 psi. The 145 you mentioned is at the flywheel. I barely got 143 at the wheels with a long list of bolt ons. Dont know what the stockers dyno, but I'd guess its 120. (145 X 15% loss).

If the FMAX does get 220 at the wheels, thats 100 hp increase.

thank u guys 4 replying! trust me, you've been a help.
for the member who asked how much is kit, the price
for the F-max kit is $3799, and the turbo manifold is $500.
They must charge an arm and a leg to ship.

i had the gude turbo kit non intercooled. so you can see why the dyno numbers aren't as high. plus if i wasn't detonating, it should have been pushing over 200 to the wheel, easy.

wow $4500 just to get the sohc 2.2 into the 200hp range?
not at all worth it. my friend has a 3rd gen rx-7, he just has to remove hit catalytic converter to gain 50hp!!

you can find a used kit for around 2500 complete but it's rare to find one for an accord. if your serious about buying let me know, i could probably get you one for a good price. i sell performance parts on the side so let me know.

if your asking if theres a turbo kit for the 3.0 the answer is no. Since you have a v6 the only way to do a turbo would be a custom twin turbo setup. You should just wait for the comptech supercharger for the 3.0 to come out, I'm sure it'll be way cheaper than doing a custom twin turbo.

About the drag gen 3 kit I've seen it on ebay from an authorized dealer for $2,795.00 brand new and free shipping. Heres one of his auctions thats going on right now http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...item=600927882
He doesn't have an accord kit for auction right now but I'm sure if you emailed him, he could get you one.

By the way in your opinion which kit is better F-max or drag gen 3? Pros and cons?

The fmax site has a comparison between the two setups.
