Angry HP Racing Muffler

I just installed an HP Racing Muffler and holy crap that thing is loud. I am so annoyed. I needed a muffler bad and couldn't make up my mind on a rear section to buy. I think I am going back to a stock exhaust because this whip ain't a civic and I don't like loud ass exhaust. Now everytime I see a freakin cop I'm gonna have to put in the clutch and let idle until I pass him..F%$#

The messed up thing it does have a silencer on it and still is loud as hell. It is not even that big that is why I bought it , I'm gonna have to get a new exhaust quickly.

from what i hear.. bigger the exhaust.. the quieter it is..

this is usually with stock engines.. or with minor modifications..

i have a 3.5" tip.. with short-ram intake..

how big is your outlet?

After f(&^(*in around with several different mufflers, i ended up just buying a stock muffler and had midas weld the muffler to the 2.5" cat back b-pipe. I've got a magnaflow resonator on it right now, and honestly, it sounds damn good. Nice and quiet, but it's got a growl when I punch it. Oh, and I got all my torque back. I really dont believe in aftermarket exhausts unless you have forced induction. It's all mental in terms of power production - the louder it is and more money that you spent on it the more you think you actually did something for your car. but that's just my 2 cents.

well the main problem with the muffler is how heavy it is.. i think someone weighed it at 40+ pounds.

the weight loss and the lower restriction probably result in similar, small, gains.
