this is for the 97 2.2cl

Audible Signal Operation

to turn the audible signal on, press and hold the Trunk release button, then immediately press and hold the LOCK button. you should see the LED on the remote trasmitter come on for one second. release both buttons after the LED goes out.

and to turn it off

repeat the above procedure. you should see the LED blink twice.

the audible signal feature will be off after you install a new battery in the remote trasmitter. use the above procedure to turn it on again.


and if anyone changed the battery in the transmitter. the transmitter needs to be syncronized with the main unit. with the doors and trunk lid closed, press either the lock or Unlock button six times..

Acutally I been trying to figure this out for like 2 months. I posted like 3 times and this is the first time somebody has posted a solution. Thanks to the solution. Plus i am the second owner of the car and don't have the manual.

 

i think you hold the trunk and the main unlock button till the light flashes
