How is this possible? Prelude manual vs. 3.0

Newer gen - intake/exhaust. I heard the intake, didn't hear the exhaust so I assume it was something along the lines of a SP2/etc and not a fartcan (but I visually saw that is was NOT the stock muffler). Ghey yellow undercar neons and altezas. :ghey:

1.) We caught a light, and I looked over and he just looked back. He had a passenger in with him. Light turns green, we roll for a sec then when we are right beside each other we both punch it. I'd say we were rolling ~5mph before that. I had it pulled down to D1 so no shift lag. He gets the jump, my bumper was at his front wheel until say ~25mph when I got into VTEC then I started pulling. When we shut down at 70 (also b/c of light ahead) his bumper was at the middle of my car. Seemed like he shifted well, he chirped into second.

2.) Next light. I was in D3 after last one, forgot to move it back to D1. Roll to 10mph but when I get beside him, we both punch it but he pulls a car before stupid tranny shifts to first. I pull up to the middle of his car before the next light. Again, he chirped between gears.

3.) Next light, from a dead stop. Both punch it at green, he spins tires, I chirped and put a car on him. I turned off.

How is this possible? His car should be faster than mine.

I dunno i had the same experience with 2 rsx-s one my friends one some random guy off the street and i took both of them. They both lanched good off the line tires spun a little and both hard shifts into second. I think maybe the auto shifts a little quicker for off the line racing.

Factory freaks? Both of those cars should run high 14s. Should put at least a car length on us...

Yeah, a prelude is only a great car if the person behind the wheel actually knows how to drive them.

Plus the SS models SUCK, plus start adding weight (passengers) and the car becomes a pig, kinda like my 2.3 :P

No, i meant either. Only real difference an SH will make is in the twisties. Only a supposed 5hp difference between a reg and an SH. Plus the SH does not come with SS (sport shift) as an option, strictly manual.

yo, preludes are quick, but not fast as hell or anything. 3.0's arent the slowest things in the world or anything. Race a lil more and you'll notcie that. The type SH is beatable, but the RSX-S arent unless you have a lot of shit done to your 3.0. plus like they said before, itz all about the driver.
