How many gallons is the gas tank for the 2.3?
I just did some minor research on the 98-99 CLs and other sources indicates these cars comes w/15gallon size tanks. Mine only goes up a bit over 13gallons when I fuel up and at most I get 260-270miles from it. Same with u guys??

Damn 270? I get at least 360 everytime...somtimes 390 on average!
Whenever I fill up it reads a little over 13 gallons. Maybe the reserve tank is the 2 gallons?

the whole thing is 17, but i think there is a 2 gallon reserve tank. the gas gauge is really inaccurate and i hate it too.

All gas questions should be reserved until you guys determine you MPG in a more accurate manner. Going by how many miles you drove by how much gas you think you used is rediculous. The gas guage is not that accurate. Plus you never fill up from empty and drive it till it's empty, so WTF?

I actually dont know how many gallons it holds. The most I've ever put in was either 14.2 or 15.2 which amazed me. I never knew they were bigger than 15. And yes, our gas gauge SUCKS! I've never seen my gas light go on, and it scares me. I try to get it as low as possibly to see when the damn thing goes on, but then I had a hard time starting the damn thing, so I just went and filled her up. BTW our fuel pumps are in the rear so for those of you that like to roll around on "E", park her uphill, never facing downhill. Makes it easier for you to start your car on "E".

I set the trip ODO when I fill or at the start of a long trip. I never let it go under 2/3 of a tank... usually put in 6.25 - 7.5 gallons... This last run I put in 6.75 gallons and had gone 168.2 miles. I got roughly 25 mpg maybe 110 of those miles were highway and the rest were city traffic. I am notorious for the sit and idle. I sometimes stop and pull out the laptop for a few moments in a parking lot or wait for the wife to "run in" some where. I like to be comfortable and the climate control is while I'm piggy-backing some WIFI at the grocery store.

Damn, I do mostly highway driving in my stock 3.0 cl and when I push 320 miles I'm really riding to Empty line.
Can you notice a difference with premium in this car?
Seems impossible to drive the 3.0 under 4K rpm constantly heh

Driving city, i unfortuantly get 18-20 miles per gallon while highway i get 35. Takeing the car all highway i get 400 somethin miles to the tank while city I Get 200ish. I put regular gas into it one time and the milages dropped. I have been using premium ever since i got the car.
Come to think of it the price difference on most stations here in PA is about 20 cents between regular and premium. That comes out to $2 on 10 gallons and $3 for 15! You pay more for the octane boosters in the stores! They go for about $5 a bottle in the local parts store... So shelling out the extra $$ as everyone says is a matter of a few more dollars! Everyone thinks it alot more then it really is.

miles till fill.... it says 17 gallon tank on auto.consumerguide.com... but i tried to
see how much gallons it really was but got scared when my engine died on me
the first time... filled up 14.8 gallons.
i drive standard and usually shift by the book.... cruz shifting 1-2 gear - 7mph
2-3 gear - 22mph, 3-4 gear - 33mph, 4-5 gear - 48mph.
normal shifting 1-2 gear - 10mph, 2-3 gear - 28mph, 3-4 gear - 38mph,
4-5 gear - 52mph. i try not to exceed 3.5 rpms cuz i fill up on 92....
