It's been a while, but let me try.
You need to disconnect the stock (black) air duct that connects to your throttle body. You'll also need to remove your stock air box (that house's the filter). There should be 2 hoses that connect to the stock air duct. Remove these.
The short ram should connect to your throttle body with the rubber/silicone (colored) tube that was provided. There should also be 2 hoses (colored) that fit on the 2 fitting that jet off of the intake (short ram). Connect these new hoses to their original location on the engine.
Then put the filter on the opposite end (where you stock airbox used to be).
Here's a pic of my Cold Air Intake (which is longer than your short ram--but you get the picture).

May I get some opinions on which style is better....short ram or cold air??
And will after market air intake improve anything w/o exhaust mod(yet)? Or do the exhaust first?

Read this thread for opinions: http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...=cai+short+ram
An aftermarket intake will net you at least several HP, even without an exhaust mod. Do the intake first (unless you already have the exhaust on hand, then do them both).

I suggest you take it to a shop and have it installed.
The install is a piece of cake if you are mechanically inclined. But you don't sound like you are....otherwise you wouldn't be asking how to install it.

Another question about CAI....
AEM bypass valve, how exactly does it shut down air flow from the filter? From looking at the picture of the bypass valve, it doesn't seem like it has any sort of flap. Is there one within the AEM CAI tubing that would shut down airflow and allow the bypass valve to suck in air from within the engine compartment?

The bypass basically is just a foam covered piece of plastic with holes in it so if the K&N gets submerged in water, air will be sucked through the bypass instead of the K&N. You just can't see the holes unless you take it off and look at it.
