I sold my intake about a year ago when I thought I was gonna sell my car and i've been living w/ a stock unit w/ K&N since. Well I picked up a AEM CAI used for 50$ and man oh man I forgot what I was missing.

Ya I just put an AEM short ram in my cl this week... You would never think a 2.2CL can be soo freakin loud!! I think I floored it more this past week then I have for the whole year i had my car!! I love the vtec scream...

change it when it gets dirty......oh, and thanks to intake.....my tranny is now dead, cause my pedal never leaves the floor

i kinda forced the filter in
bend it in the process,

if it's a K&N or what AEM uses you can clean it w/ one of their recharger kits found at any auto parts store. If you bend it a little you'll be alright as long as you don't rip it up or anything

just wash it out bra....youre straight as long as its not a paper filter.....which if you have short ram or cold air, its not paper....so wash that shit out and dry it and put it back

I fawkin love it, had my car almost 6 years and finally did this. Man I love the whistle a 1/3 throttle, hell I think its better than Vtech kicking in.

I bought it for gas mileage, fawk that. I like the sound too much

I recharge my filter every other oil change (8000k) and it stays nice. Buy a K&N recharge kit, they run about $10 at parts stores. It amazed me how much dirt really comes out of the filter after you do the propper cleaning.

NOPE thats how miles I have on mine. I saw a slight decrease in MPG so I wanted to get this for the motor to breath better. I DID NOT buy this for HP, but it sure is fun though

I don't have a fender liner so it's easy for me to get too

Yeah just like he said. Either drive it up on a ramp or jack it up to get under there. Under the driver side bumper light on the 3.0 there is like a plastic flap that swings down after you unclip it. When i clean mine it seems brand new and that it regains some of its original HP. Could all be mental though, but i think it helps, ALOT of dirt/buildup comes off the filter wehn you spray the k&n cleaning fluid on it.
BTW, you do have to remove the filter to give it the proper cleaning.

Hmm Whatz the best way to convert like a camera tape to computer format? I have like a 30min video of me and all my friends driving around...And my friends type-r getting pulled over for LOUD EXAUST, when all he has is an AEM CAI. And I have him taped getting pulled over, talking to the cop, and the cop saying "im not giving u a ticket for racing, im giving u a ticket for your exaust", then 5 min later...after the cop gets pissed he comes back with a racing ticket! And you can see my HID's lighting up the whole road, vtec screaming, and beating my friends hooked up automatic 98 240sx...Also have Lancer EVO vs my friend and just whole bunch of nice fly byz... You can really hear my intake scream and echo as we go through this overpass. Haha then we have this one lineup...2.2 CL (me) vs. Type-R vs. 240sx vs. LS integra it lookz like a scene straiight out of fast and furious we all got systems pumpin screens playin everything.

my brother has a 3.0 nissan maxima and he gave me his Cattman Performence cold air intake and it fits the 3.0 CL it works like a charm, made the car so much louder....and faster...

I dont know about you but i cant here my Vtec kick in. I have a 97 cl 2.2 and my short ram is on its way. I plan on getting headers and full greddy exhuast with that electronic valve thing that lets the exhuast become straightthrough. That way all the bolt ons will actualy amount to hp gains that i will feel.

Here is a comptech dyno for a newer CL. I think 4 cylinder engines generally get less benefit:
