Horrible Gas Milage

Please help me, I had my transmission replaced about a month ago and after that i was getting like 350-380 miles on 14-16 gallons of gas. Most recently (last 2 fillups) I have been getting like 200-230 miles on 13-16 gallons. What should I check first, or should I even bother and just take it to Acura? my only problem with taking it to Acura is it is never anything wiht the car it is my driving style, but I dont drive hard....

wow, you were getting 300+ miles on a tank of gas on the 3.0? The 200 miles per tank sounds right to me cause that's what I always get per tank.....lets see what others say ....

Speak to me in miles per gallon. Telling how long you go between fillups doesn't say much as you can be filling at half tank or have a gas gauge that is not right. I've gone 500 miles without gassing and the low level light had not come on yet. If using oxygenated fuel the MPG will suffer; don't ask me how that helps polution.

If I've got the cruise set @ 70-75mph, I can get 30-31mpg over long distances.

If I'm driving around town (stop & go), I only average around 18-20mpg. I usually don't get below 1/4 on the gauge so I've never tested how many miles I get out of a tank.

I don't know how you guys are getting these figures! Are you sure you are dividing the total miles, by gallons you filled up...hence MPG?! 30 MPG seems far fetched for a 3.0! = )

I just filled my 3.0CL with 14 gal of gas today after 308 miles in the city. That comes out to 22mpg. I was happy to see this, considering that usually get only like 278 miles. The past few weeks I've toned down my driving style and have noticed much better gas mileage!

I would check everything.....tire pressure, replace fuel filter, air filter, etc. Mine never got that good of gas milage though. Maybe it was the shot tranny having something to do with it?

Is it a new tranny? Maybe there's a break-in period before it runs efficiently.
