Hooking up Sub/Amp
99 3.0 CL
Hey everyone, before I buy a sub/amp I want to know what I'm in for as far as hooking it up.
First off can you connect the sub/amp to the stock sound system. My friend said I might have to buy a face plate and shit to hook it up, but he wasnt sure howd it work with my car. He also told me that to get all the wires from the his plate to the back he had to drill some whole in his car and it was all basically a pain in the ass. Is it any easier for my car? isnt thier something around the back speakers I can just hook it up to, or what exactly am I going to have to do.
Thx for the help. NEED BASS!

1. you dont necesarily need a new headunit to hook up a sub and amp....but it sounds best
2. drilling is to get the power wire through the firewall....which isnt really necessary...for me it wasnt....i popped it through a rubber plug i found on my firewall
3. if you dont want a new headunit, you have to buy a seperate module that hooks up the back 2 speakers and has an rca plug in it so you can hook up the amp to the module and run the bass off of the 2 back speakers

there should be a hole in the left side of your car under the panels where you can run the battery wire from the front to the inside and to the back and the other wires you run from the ride side through the panel and into the right seat on the side theres another hole there you just have to move the carpet in the trunk a lil bit its real simple i just did it
