bwahah thats my teg.

My hood prop is relatively subtle, some guys do it to get 2-3 inches of space, I'll look for some shots.

there's really no purpose to it, some say that it lets heat out of the engine bay, i just think it gives the car a little agressive look.

it started with the hatchi drifters in japan though, to let heat out of the engine bay. there's no real purpose for it on my car, I just think it looks good.

To those of you on this board calling it rice and whatnot, keep in mind how much people that are into the style I'm into bite our tounges at what some of the cars here are. Everyone has their own opinions.

ghost, I think you should try it, dude. It cost me probably $6 at a hardware store for washers and extended bolts, and can be undone in 5 minutes whenever I want to.

i bite my tongue alot around here about ppl's styles for there CL's.

do you have a problem with rain and mositure getting inside of the engine bay. i cant see that as being a big problem, but that would be my only concern.

how many spacers did you use, and is it mandatory to get extended bolts. im gonna go to the hardware store tommorow, maybe ill have some pictures.

and BTW get ready for some 4 lug ITR wheels. 2 more paychecks.

Oh yeah, and like ghost originally said, the only actual good you'd get from it would be if you were running ITBs and wanted to vent more air to them.

Which I don't think they make for the F22/3. Oh well, fuck it. Do it anyways.

bah, not really. I'm sick of the fuckin thing already. I can get a good deal on a real professional paint job to respray my car OEM Jasper Green in exchange for taking pics for the guys business, but if I have a clean paint job, I'll want a clean motor, interior, better suspension components, etc.

It's a vicious chain. I'd rather start with something that's in mint condition rather than trying to restore an old piece of shit like I started. Thinking about going to a GSR or bugeye WRX sometime this summer. Time will tell tho, I keep going back and forth between wanting to fix it and not.

Nope, absolutely not. theres really not enough room for it to pour in on your electronics and whatnot, and I've never heard of anyone having problems with this.

You know, I think I used 9 or 10 for each bolt (which there are 4 of). I don't remember the size of the washer, but experiment, go as high or as low as you want. I'm almost positive extended bolts will be necessary as I don't believe there'll be enough thread left on your stock ones to go in after they have about an inch of washers on em.

Good shit dude, I thought about doin that on my CL too, but got worried that 15's would look too small. Go for it! They're cheap as hell around here, found a set in the area for $350!

I'm not sure what you mean, I put 9 on each bolt that connects the hood to the car, 4 of them. Where would you put them up front?

I was going to do it when we had trouble fitting the engine in. Since the engine itself was about 2 inches taller, I thought of doing this as an answer to closing the hood. Although my hood doesnt close all the way still, I decided to cut the metal triming inside of the hood instead. Still havent done it, but I'll get to it. Goodluck with whatever you decide. I say just do it and see if you like it. If not, oh well, just $20 and 20 minutes of your life. No big deal.

It may be ok as a subtle mod, raising it an inch just looks like someone didn't put their hood on, but hey it's jDm y0

I just don't see the point. It makes it look like you didn't have the $$ to buy the right hardware for you're hood so you've got the incorrect stuff on there.

Form...Function...Form...Function. If it doesn't do you much good, what good does it do? Not a highly desirable mod IMO. Most people will not wonder if you have ITB's or anything like that, they will wonder if you were in an accident.
