Honda Prelude AC AutoTechnic Short Shifter

Hello,

I just purchased a 1997 Acura CL 2.2 (only 47k miles, woot!) and the first mod I'd like to make is to replace the really ugly and long shifter. I have been searching the forums and it looks like I have two options. I can either get a shifter from a 92-96 honda prelude or I can buy an overpriced short shifter kit.

I was searching google and I found this shifter:
http://www.prostreetonline.com/parts...short_shifter/

will it work/fit on the CL?

Thanks.

4bidden short shifter...designed for 4th gen preludes but fits 5th gen accords and 1st gen cl's...obviously it'll be shorter than the 4th gen prelude shifter

the 4bidden will still work...but it's another option if you want something that gives shorter throws than the stock 4th gen prelude shifter will...but it's more expensive than sourcing a stock shifter

the 4bidden will bolt up to the stock cl shifter plate, but if you can find a prelude shifter plate the shifter will sit slightly lower and give even shorter shifts (according to what i remember the creaters said...i'll be trying that in a couple days)

So where can the 4bidden short shifter be purchased?

Also, does anyone know if the short shifter on the page I pasted will work in the CL? No one has really given a definate yes or no answer. Wouldn't it be a good shifter option especialy at that price?

the lude shifter cost me $10 and it installed it myself. If a 4bidden shifter is really worth 13x more, then go ahead and be my guest to buy it

yall got lucky with your prelude shifters. I've been looking for over eight months for a fourth gen prelude shifter. No junk yards around here have them, because no junk yards have preludes...they said the parts last about two days when a prelude comes in. I've bid on four shifters on ebay during this time, and lost every one at the last second. Hehe, but at least the buyer payed more than he was expecting for it. Each one went over $40. To tell you the truth, i owned a prelude and the shifts were fine with me, i really dont want a shorter shifter, its not a price thing to me. Its getting to the point where i might just go ahead and buy the forbidden one, because i can't stand the stock shifter. Sorry, kind of random, i have no clue about the ac shifter, if its solid, it looks like it'd be a really good deal. Just dont get adapters. If you want to get into the upper price range, you can go with a pspec, which is apparantly amazing, idk, i've never driven with one, but alot of guys recommend it. But forbidden is a good guy, i remember when he was creating the shifter for his own prelude.

damn that sucks man, i just lucked out and happened to find a guy on craigslist that was selling one that live 15 min from me. The funny thing is, when we met up, his prelude had the EXACT same rims as me haha. I got out of the car and the first thing i said was "nice rims"

you would have to modify the shifter plate, either by hammering the tabs back or just cutting them off marchingant4, I would JUMP on this offer
