Holy Shit!

You guys in ATL shoulda come to the meet...OMG

11 Supras
4 RX-7s
WRXs, Maximas

Did I mention 11 Supras?

There was one black Supra with a T66 single turbo conversion pushing 800 HP with race fuel. He was pulling from us (me and TurboSupra) like a bitch!

I went on the Supra run through town after the meet...Holy shit these things pull. We had 2 R1s pacing 9 of the Supras through town. You should seen the looks we got. All the girls seemed like the wanted to just drop their panties.

Once we hit the highway, the 2 R1s both did wheelies and the black Supra wasted all the rest of the Supras...Including the single turbo conversion Supras. He was gutted and everything...Roll cages welded to the back...Nitrous setup...etc etc. Someone said he was racing a supercharged Viper tonight sometime.

I'm convinced I'm trading in my CL for one of these things once I get an opportunity.

Our cars just can't compare.

Here's a teaser pic...I'll post some more soon.

Seriously man, you are comparing apples and oranges. Supras are sports cars, Cls are luxury cars. There is quite a difference. If you want a pure sports car and don't mind paying the astronomical insurance on it, get the supra. If you want something semipractical and luxurious, stick with the CL. But, you can't rag on the CL in comparison to a Supra, they are entirely different cars.

I'm confused...Besides more trunk space, what advantage do we have?

Supra-
Leather
Targa Top
RWD
6 Speed
Turbo
Mods Everywhere
Iron Block
More Respect Than The CL
Competing with C5s, Vipers, WRXs, Cobras, etc etc
13.1 Stock 1/4 Mile

CL-
Leather
Slow
More Trunk Space
FWD
No Manual For the V6
Shitty Tranny
Aluminum Block
Hardly Any Mods
Competing with Civic SIs, Integra Type Rs, every other rice on the street
15.7 Stock 1/4 Mile For the 3.0

Our cars aren't even an apple.

A functional backseat helps. Better gas mileage, less insurance, plus the Supra is more expensive than the CL. I guess our cars are more practical and less fun. But, why would you buy a CL if you wanted a Supra to begin with? Unless you have $$$$ to blow why would you buy the CL for the purpose of modding it to hell ?

ALSO, a turbo supra is twice the price of the CL. According to carpoint:

1998 3.0CL = $15,150-17,400
1998 Turbo Supra = $24,300-30,800

If they were in the same price range I would understand, but they're not even close. If you had a 2.x CL you could take that 13K difference in price and get a F0de special and you could push quite a horses through the CL and still have four people in the car with luggage. Obviously, having a Supra would be tight, but for everyday driving and having more than one passenger in the car, the CL is better. I guess my point is that they were designed for different purposes and you can't say the CL sucks because it's not a supra.

Backseat is functional. Insurance is not that much more according to TurboSupra. Price wise its not that different. You're comparing the 98 version of the Supra with was the last year they made them. AKA least milage and more expensive. They go as low as 18K for a used one with a clear title. If you want one now...One with a clear title and decent milage goes for around 25K. Year doesn't matter...its milage. All the body styles were the same (94-98)

I will agree with gas milage. Turbos guzzle gas.

Basically...If...and thats a BIG IF....I can find one for the right price, I can trade straight up for one for the $ I can make selling the CL. Now the only trick is convincing my rents. Its been done...Just gotta look and wait for the right opportunity.

I just can't see the CL being able to do anything the Supra can't...Including luxury. If you wanna move stuff, get an SUV. The CL wasn't meant to do that.

Pricewise, they're comparable. Which would you rather have?

Different Supra. Walser is in Texas. You should check out his garage...He also owns a Z07, other Supras, Ferrari 550, and a few Vipers.

Heck, if you don't have to pay for the Supra, hell yea get it. Once you have to pay for everything yourself, it would be more of a bitch to maintain a supra.
