Hints on AEM Short Ram Install

I just got mine in the mail. Anyone have any suggestions or hints they learned when installing their CAI or short ram? Anything would be appreciated.

I thought the install was pretty quick and simple. I did mine in about 20-30 min. Only 2 things puzzled me initially, the size of the intake compared to the pipe(1/2 inch larger) and finding a location to secure the pipe and filter to.

I'm sure the CAI is better than a Short Ram air, but install is quicker, performance increase is still good and the costs are lower.... If you want, you can add one of these(or something similar) to make your short ram into a CAI....

the CAI is better choice... the short ram is ok... but it picks up alot of heat.. either buty a filter with a heat sheild or an add on pipe...

i am changing my short ram to a CAI...
good luck

Take all the plastic intake tubing out, yes, even that box underneath it that has an electrical socket going to it. Just pull the plug out and let it hang, get rid of all boxes connected to the stock intake.
Cap off the vaccuum line that is remaining and just clamp the intake in.
Good to go.
