Higher compression?

I still have not gotten my 2.2 back from the dealer(head gasket) I talked with them today and they said that the head had magnafluxed fine, but had to be machined by the machine shop. Question is this; Is this going to raise my compression much? I dont know how much they are taking off yet, I intend to ask them tomorrow. the gasket set is factory Acura parts, as is the timing belt and water pump I paid extra for. I just worry that too much compression increase will overpower the oem headgasket. What do you all think?

I had the head on my 94 Accord EX "shaved" when I replaced head gasket and I could detect no difference in performance. The amount of material removed is very small, perhaps a few thousands of inch. This provides a perfectly flat surface to seal new head gasket. I wouldn't do a head gasket replacement w/o this step. Too much chance of having to re-do.

good luck
